Strategies to Defeat AV (All Theories/Ideas Here)

Almost any job that can wear powder boots can get AV half way to the palace solo. Myself and a thf in my LS have relayed AV to the palace using flee and powder boots. If you really don't want AV to depop, might as well use pup /pup to do it(watch out for the rng aern it can RA fast enough that dmg is done before deactivate).

edit: he went out with one last 2hr. After everything we tried on him some of our BLMs went up for one last nuke on him. Blizzaga 3 for 750 immediately followed by Benediction. XD

What elemental day was this on? Iceday?

firesday, this one wasn't an element/day nuke. This was our BLMs seeing the damage using the element that the current day was strong against.

He wasn't very nice to us either. Was the first time my linkshell had seen it, so we just giggled like little girls and had to engage, got it down to about 98%. I tried powder boots for kicks, and did not make it very far.

I hope they release the trick soon, my old AU Sky shell has moved into Sea a while back, and so far are 3/4 on AV pops from their JoLs. Only 1/4 Torque though.

One of their Whm's now has the hobbies on their webpage changed to "Cleaning up Absolute Virtue's messes."

Since they didn't show AV's HP at any point in time, nor did I see him use bene even once, does the spamming of 2hours after a particular 2hour lock other 2 hours?

Like he uses 2hour x
players spam their correlative 2 hours for 2hour x.
Now AV's 2hours y, b, & z are locked.

The first 2:30~ appears to be showcasing the method for breaking the regen. The repeated killing of summoned phaubos followed by Thunder spam when they day changed over. This seems to reinforce the conclusions made from my linkshell's own testing. I don't think the day needs to change over, it was only shown to place emphasis on the corresponding day~element thing. I'm going to agree with the previous post and say that it did appear that using a two hour to match the one AV just used could play a key roll in the fight. We have 7 JoL pop sets, hopefully we can test some of this on the upcoming Saturday.

Why was there a melee-ing RDM with a staff out there?
Why was that one BLM standing right next to AV?

I'd think its because you need all the jobs nearby to spam 2-hour... but then where's the NIN blowing himself up?

Apparently you can't NIN tank AV, if you have to pull the trigger whenever he does his 2-hour to nullify it. Too bad, since we almost exclusively use NIN/DRKs on JoL in my shell >.<

I just realized AV was made back before all the pld buffs when tanking with earth staff was not unheard of, maybe they limited themselves to pre-shield patch ect. to make it fair.

Aegis would obviously be better but if they gave everyone in the video relics we would be bitching about them cheating.
