So uh, the links you posted regarding the topic being addressed didn't address them at all. Just thought that if your intention of requesting that people bring it to the wiki boards instead wasn't just a cheap ploy to just ban and squelch anyone who would dare oppose you that you should know

Seriously though an open statement about this BEFORE this topic was made would probably have done a great deal for the public response. You're basically calling people ignorant because they haven't heard your excuses yet. Whether you walked off with the money or squandered it through bad business practices is irrelevant. This is a moral argument not a legal one. Legally I'm assuming you're fine.

Granted the second topic is the only one I've been able to check but the only serious mention of money or donations in the first topic was made by *gag* poof and it wasn't even replied to except for ad-hominem and then ganiman basically skirted it entirely. All it was was people going "well we didn't like wikia.... buuuuuuuuuut now we do". Granted if I missed a specific post please feel free to direct me to it.

You keep calling me out, you seem to have great knowledge of repeated warnings and violations, but I counted, I had 10 rule violations, and I was warned 4 times, in a 6-8 month period. That is a few warnings, but it isn't repeated. I'd like for you to stop commenting on something you have no idea about. But at the same time, lets talk about people who violate rules but were acted on; I mentioned in my original post that my wife tracked down a user who made 26 forum rule violations in a ONE MONTH PERIOD, and she was ignored. This guy has had more posts reported than ANYONE else on the forums, he attacks people constantly, and yet, he has never been banned. Funny right? However, someone who dissented and made negative remarks about the wiki and someone who got in to an argument with the administration about being called all sorts of stuff (Zero was basically called various amounts of crap by Ganiman and the rest of the administration because he claimed to have beaten Maat on WHM with a club) were both banned. In fact, sometime in July, I had a conversation with Ganiman where he was STILL making fun of Zero (something about Zero having a fire in his apartment)... he couldn't quite let it go.

Mierin, you never did address that. You suddenly are supportive of Zero, and said you didn't quite understand why he was banned from editing the wiki, but I quoted you as saying he got what he deserved. You might argue that what I say was to "calm me down" but none of that was. A lot of that was simple conversation... especially the Zero comment. You didn't understand why he got the punishment he did, but at the same time you are saying he got what he deserved?

But I just said my opinion changed. However, Square-Enix themselves directed us to make the announcements only editable by administrators. That was why I had their ability to edit protected pages revoked. It had nothing to do with trust. In fact, I never changed anything that he did, I was just concerned about Square-Enix's reaction. That's my job as the site's counsel.

But feel free to drag Charitwo through the mud some more. I'm sure that is making him feel great. You're so kind to do that. As for Zero, I thought he was an idiot, but I never thought he deserved to be banned, whatever lines you quote from me. I see that you are no longer trying to defend your actions, but rather attack me or the wiki. All it serves to do is prove that we were right to ban you. As we are moving forward with the move to Wikia, it has become a concern, and we still don't know what we are going to do. I'm not sure what you all are still upset about? Unless you truly believe we are absconding with the funds. We didn't tell you right away? Well, shucks, I'm sorry. We were always planning to do something with it, in some way of giving it back. We were intending to make an announcement when we had decided how. I'm sorry that announcement hasn't been made yet. However, there have been other more pressing issues, such as the logistics of the sale, the logistics of the move. All I can tell you is that it will be addressed. As someone pointed out, we're not businessmen. We've approached each issue as it occurred to us. And don't flatter yourselves, we thought about this issue long before this thread began. We just didn't let you in on it.

Actually, his opinion is based upon the origins of this site which had lots of HNMLS bickering and fighting which turned this site into a dramafest, not unlike this thread. Whether that has changed, he doesn't know. He hasn't been here in a long time, except briefly during our last admin change. It is threads like this that form the basis of the opinion. And I don't see anyone doing anything to assuage that opinion.

Oh, and it is not "most." A few major editors such as Charitwo and Wafikasura come from here, but the majority do not. For example, I don't think Taj has ever edited the wiki.

It is easy for you to say that since you weren't involved in the process. We had numerous other logistical concerns that had a higher priority. But for you on the outside, you don't see that. For us working on this matter, we decided not to address this issue until we resolved the issue of what to do with it. All this is being done in conjunction with Wikia. They are a part of this decision making process. In addition, we never even imagined that people would accuse us of absconding with the money, as you all are doing here. Criminals assume people will think the worst of them. Honest people don't. That is why, although we intended to deal with it eventually, we did not deal with it immediately.

But, if all you are burning me at the stake for now is because we didn't tell you immediately, then I'm sorry. I'm sorry we didn't tell you immediately. But it will be dealt with.
