As true as this is, after reading this entire thread word for word (not even a skim, aren't you proud?) I have seen a few posts that make me wonder if the people who donated even really understood fully what they were donating it FOR. While stealing (because that is what taking donations for one purpose and then being unclear about its use is) is a really bad thing to do, mixing RL money with FFXI is also kinda a bad thing when you don't really pay attention to where it is going (excluding gilbuying divisor, that is ALWAYS douchebaggery, sorry.) Ok, so people learned one of two lessons here: 1. don't donate to shit OR 2.) donate, but be DAMN sure of where it is going and who it is going to. Didn't something like this happen with 9/11 "relief" donations? Ironic considering the date..

Hey, I'm sorry we didn't immediately say, "Hey we have X amount of dollars left over, this is what we are going to do with it." Honestly, that wasn't our first concern.

It damned well should have been. These are the very people that kept your site alive. These are the very people that meant you still had something worth selling to Wikia.

2. Its been left for you to handle? So it isn't important enough for his attention? That just sounds shitty. So they were good enough to give money to his cause, but not good enough for him to devote some time addressing valid concerns with a few invoices?
