I think you're a bit of an idiot.
I disagree with you, therefore I am an idiot. I love the internet.

To explain my point a little more clearly, my point was that Taj has displayed a blatant willingness to ignore the rules for his own ends before. That establishes a precedence that should brand any of his evidence as suspect in my eyes.

Let's for a minute assume that Divisortheory did buy gil in 2004. Why the hell is buying gil (three years ago, I might add) a bigger sin than breaking into someone else's Paypal account?

It's the intent not the crime, if he hacked into divisor's account to steal money, falsely purchase something etc. it's one thing, when you're doing it to prove a point it's another. Analyze what his intent was and if you can prove there was no malicious intent, which in fact there wasn't, then even if divisor grew a sack and tried to pursue some form of legal means it's not going anywhere. The point is, divisor bought gil, his buddies on clopedia stole 9 grand and they should all be fucked by a big black cock.

I have to ask, why Kuno? lol
Kuno refuses to use third party tomfoolery like windower

(God it is ever annoying to hear "Can someone move me to such and such channel? on vent >o )
Oooh ok. Then it will be PS2 users, Kuno, and my friend Muras left.

Heck, just watch all the damn crime shows out there; there are corners cut all over the place on shows like Law and Order and The Closer (<3 The Closer) for the convictions, and we're not finding ourselves tsk-tsking the detectives in the show.
[quote:0f588]Sorry Ash, but I call bullshit.
    [/quote:0f588]

Oh, I'm not saying they break the rules, necessarily. But just that there are instances in which they.. stretch them. For instance... recent episode, had a warrant to search a car and did so while witness was in questioning so witness wouldn't know. Or "losing" evidence in paperwork and such to avoid giving the case over to the FBI. Or evidence is found in an inadmissible way, but now they know it's there, so they find a way to come across it legally. Stuff like that. And yet we don't vilify them on the shows.

I know it's a weird comparison, but people are already blowing this way up. May as well go all out. ;D

I had a little mpeg of my baby sister dancing to "It Wasn't Me" after I downloaded the song, being inspired by Luto, but it's made with my crappy digital camera and just not very visible. Would have been a fun distraction though.

hahaha thats great, i make Taj or linsivi move me to different channels on vent all the time or they ban me. i have a complex setup for me to use vent while on ps2 in a different section of my house and it involves me getting pissed off everytime Taj bans me.

Taj did not hack into Div's account to do anything other than to use it as a very immature joke and as an ad hominem attack. Even if he did buy gil, the receipt was fucking 2 years old, what in the world does it have to do with the topic at hand?

I don't think Taj hacked the e-mail account to say, "Look, he buys gil." My interpretation is that Taj probley hacked the account to shed some light on the donation money, and came across these things. I'd have to ask him myself, but he's sleeping Q_Q.

Too many 15 year olds that don't understand the ramifications of accessing other people's bank accounts and then posting private financial history, real or fake. You do realize paypal is an actual financial institution, not some random ffxi forum's playground, right?

Would really like to hear some admin info on if he got it from here, and if so, just spammed pwords or stole hash or what, and exactly how likely it is that he can get passwords on any of us, and if something's being done to fix it.

I have never seen someone so blatantly get a situation so completely ass backwards.

Taj admitted to hacking an account = intent is irrelevent (check the law that DV posted, even if it wasn't malicious [which it was], it is still illegal).
Proof of Divisor's gil buying came from Taj from the account they hacked = no credibility.
No proof that Wiki "stole" anything, the money was donated for their site and they can use it as they wish. (Which is largely a side note now, besides the fact that just because they can use it like they wish, doesn't mean they shouldn't say where the money went, etc.)

lulz. Intent means nothing in a court of law when the charge is Invasion of Privacy. The court doesn't care if Kalia bought gil, or didn't buy gil. They'd care about his privacy being invaded. That is what happened, if Kalia can't provide enough evidence, then the FBI surely could.

"The FBI doesn't care about a loltopic about FFXI" - Correct. They care about Invasion of Privacy however.

Kalia - If you are innocent, or not, I don't really care. But if it's like you say, and the screenshots were altered of existing dates, and you'd like to prove to the community they are false, repost them from your account with the actual transactions. (Maybe blacked out somewhat, due to possibly being private.)

Gil buyers are lol...if you're a good player and you buy gil, then you can carry on your merry way with minor suspicions. If you are a shit player and you buy gil, you are a shit player with good gear, for example Madawc. Argue inflation, this, that, whatever. Doesn't really matter at this point of FFXI. SE is pretty up on making the economy balanced and some of the items non sellable to our economic benefit and time consumption. I go on record saying "Fuck Mee Deggi the Punisher".

Agreed. If BG has a vulnerability that will cause a PW leak, then it deserves getting looked into.

I'd like to hear from board Admin that can address how a person's pw got hacked and why they haven't done anything about it yet.

Someone other than Rocl who comes in to say 'lolz div buyz gil' would be refreshing.

Connects Divisor's newfound "credibility" [buying gil] to himself being a junior admin on FFXIclopiedia. Not saying this applies to everyone, but I've read and been in LSes with grand stories about people that buy gil (esp on my server), and how they'll go through any means to get it if they don't have the funding on hand.

    Ok, 3 things.

First of all you're a moron

Secondly, It was already stated that Dvs used the same password for his gmail, paypal, and forum account.

Last, the only way, clientside anyway, is to create a new password which will overwrite the old one in the ACP, and you need to be an admin to do that. In phpBB3 every moderator and admin action is logged with the Username, IP, and action taken. There are only 4 admins and I highly doubt Taj was in any of them.

He already did something, he made Taj black out Dvs address and give back Dvs forum account, there is nothing more he needs to do.
