I would hardly characterize his statement as 'good.' Better words like 'tardy' and 'disingenuous' come to mind.

I think by now people have awakened to the fact that they gave money to an idiot and will never see it used properly, let alone returned. Ganiman squandered most of what he was given and continues to prove oblivious to the fact that people see this as a big deal. I think we're beyond politness at this point. It'll be hard to take anything he or any FFXIC admin says seriously from here on out. It's like giving money to a homeless guy, only to see him turn around and blow it on crack. Never again, right?

Yeah, but would that polite question have ever come had Taj not dropped the bomb in post #1? I think sometimes the pot needs to get shaken up a little bit for things to come out.

A statement like this without having to be provoked would have been an AWESOME show of good faith. It's a nice PR statement, just came a little too late...

It's easier to apologize than to ask for permission.

It's highly unlikely that Gani's statement would have ever been made if this thread didnt come about.

most of the posts here that seem to be "pro DT" really aren't. These people are just against the hacking of DT's R/L accounts by Taj.

The fact he has a Relic and is an arrogant asshole pretty much is the reason he gets the special lulz.

Lets assume for a minute that DV bought all of that gil and more. How does that justify what Taj did? Taj shouldn't have known that the transactions were there, so that means that Taj was intentionally looking into someones personal financial records for what? So either Taj is more of a slimeball because he was just looking to hack DV's personal financial records, or he wanted to go to his paypal to fabricate DV's personal records.

Either way, it gets even worse for Taj. Everything here has to do with credibility. The only thing we know for positive is that Taj hacked DV's e-mail, account and paypal. Everything else falls prey to the question of credibility.

Someone that is willing to hack someone else's e-mail, account and paypal just to win an argument over the internet should not be put above the idea that they wouldn't just fabricate the records to win that same argument. This is a person that has lost perspective, and may actually have to face real world consequences of their actions.

Maybe we should rub cocks, might help us bond a little and you can see the inner me.

Who was the arrogant one again, calling someone out on something he had no business talking about, didn't affect him, and was fucking wrong anyway? lol

This is the reason why I was laughing my ass off when I first read this last night. I wish he got nailed differently though so everyone could partake in the laughter.

    Like a poster noted previously:

So, is everyone supposed to just ignore what information was stolen? Yeah, the whole thing is stupid, but that isn't going to make the whole gilbuying issue go away just because it was discovered using less than honorable means...

Batman doesn't always follow the law. Is he still looked up to and respected? Yeah... Does it mean he was right? Who can really say? That's a much deeper arguement than I think this thread will go into; 'For the greater good' and all that jazz.

I get your point about the Paypal account thing having real life implications, but this is a FFXI board, not a Credit board. People are going to drift to the things that interest them. I'll give you a hint. It doesn't fit in a toaster, begins with a 'G', and rhymes with Hillbuyer.

Please understand that I'm not trying to "justify" anything that Taj did. Like I said a page or two ago, what's done is done. We all know it was wrong. But what we have in front of us now is transactions to IEG (or what looks very much like them). If they are false, I would simply like Div to say so. That is all.

I have found that I cannot come out and attack other people who buy gil (on a much more rampant basis than my own, usually) without saying something about myself having done so once as well (and I have fully admitted it on more than one occasion with full disclosure as to details), as it would be terribly hypocritical. Which I think was the point, not the 'he's a boy i'm a girl' argument.

    Re: Dear Ganiman, (op updated)

This isn't really surprising. SO many people here idolized and adored Taj for all of the funny/humorous/power tripping things he did. They sat back and laughed because his actions, which were harmful to many people, did not hurt them personally. They weren't the GMs who had to deal with the trouble he caused.

Now they're getting a glance at what it's like to be on the receiving end of one of his pranks.

And he's not cool as they thought.

OK, how do I get on the IRC for BG? It keeps telling me some kind of port? I need to get on so that I can prove that Rydiu is an idiot, so it's very important...

No, I was using his form of argument against him as a spoof. He himself just said no one had any credibility, but then further continued to justify one's actions over the other.

If neither has any credibility, though, then nothing can truly be justified.
