Two technical problems with BRD Rotation I have questions about:

    1. If BRDs are the heavy sleepers (In which case they need cures), who checks to cure them? It seems in that brief period of PT change that a BRD without much HP, but has hate is at risk.

    2. What happens if two BRD's songs don't land at the same time or one BRD's song outlasts the other? Do you set it such that they rotate at the same time or at the time when the buff wears off? Or do you have them rotate again so they're already in the PT when the buff wears?

    1. Never really been a problem. But usually the brd's orginal party healer keeps an eye on them. Blms are our primary sleeper for most things however.

    2. Brd swaps happen fast enough that sufficient overlap occurs.

As for Donnie's post: I didnt really mean that I say "this member will always be our dia member or such". More meant that people understand that these actions need to happen, so the 2-3 rdms in each alliance are working together to get it done. I only say "hey you, fucking dia3 it" if I see it not happening for a while.

Now that is a thread all on it's own. Lol. If you ain't a leader, u don't have a say in what job you get to come as. I pick a different bard each run to lead the bard rotation. Practice makes perfect.

I agree with Neo that 20 skilled is better then 35 mediocre. For most things in this game that works, but for Einherjar if u get a rough set of mobs in T3, 20 people just won't cut it.

    1. This is where the Crowd Control PT comes into play. The SCH is keeping Graviga and Bindga on them, so the sleepers have time to get Lullaby or Sleepga off, and the BLU/WAR and PLD are spamming hate spells so that the mobs are on them, not the sleepers. (It's pretty common for the called mob to continue wailing on the BLU or PLD for a few seconds when we start killing it)

    2. We had this problem initially, and in the end we decided to just keep a fairly constant rotation going. If a song overlaps a few seconds, or is off for a few seconds, not that big of a deal considering that you're still giving your melee multiple songs for the majority of the run.

Edit: By the time the BRD has done 2 songs, swapped, done 2 songs, swapped, done 2 songs plus 2 Ballad on the mages, it's close enough to time for their first set to wear.

    1. We're working on our support PT, but the second half make it seem like I'll have to go back to BLU/WAR. We do have a PLD getting mobs and such already so that's taken care of.

    2. I like the edit part most since I wasn't thinking about ballad in the rotations. What's the actual time you set to cast songs and such? Or do leaders just call it whenever?

BLU makes a big difference for us. but you need a good blue to notice that.

    1. You could have the PLD come /RDM or /BLM and replace the BLU/WAR. We like to have the PLD to pull and kite Chair Guy if we get him, so he comes /NIN (makes Dvergr easier)

    2. We don't set a time, once we enter the BRDs put up their songs, and hit a macro that drops PT and sends a tell to the next PT's leader to invite them. The leaders have macros /pcmd add bardsname, so it's a simple process of hitting the macros in the proper order. If for some reason a BRD has finished early and is trying to get into a PT that still has a BRD in it, they just chill out and wait for the invite.

Didn't see this second comment until I made a whole layout for leader-based rotations. We did try the BRD-based rotation, but two problems emerged. First, the BRDs claimed to not have macro space. Second, even though we let the BRDs decide when to drop, somehow the mages went without ballad. Weird turn of events.

We had similar problems when we started.

What worked for us on both problems was:

Have the BRDs make a pallet purely for Einherjar (We have what, 200 pallets, they can find room) that includes the 2 songs they sing on melee, Ballad 1&2, Lullabys, SS/Blink, Erase/Cure3/Curaga and then there's plenty of room for a /pcmd add and 3 /pcmd leave macros.

Have one BRD dedicated to giving Ballad to one mage. This could be the PT they start in, or the 3rd PT, it doesnt really matter as long as they know their job is not finished until that PT has Ballads.

I was thinking about telling the macro part. Hopefully it's not too late by the time I tell them (Late starts). I like the idea of designating one BRD to one mage. I think that we will use that strategy for upcoming runs. Thanks.

    2 things:

    1) Any special way of dealing with Barrier Tusk? We got Marids x6 on our last run and they were easy as hell, but took forever because they would open with Barrier Tusk and take dicks for damage. BLM nukes were doing like 80 damage each, dispel didn't work, and dia 3/angon didn't seem to help much either. One of them didn't use it and died in like 30 seconds, but the others took up to 2 minutes each to kill which really hurt our run time. I guess it didn't help that they seemed like the double HP kind, but like I said they didn't go down too bad when tusk wasn't up.

    2) How do you deal with Wild Horn on KB boss (yes another KB boss question -.-)? We're fine with curagaing through meteor and thunderbolt, but he seems to usually Wild Horn within 10 seconds of engaging and one-shot a decent chunk of our DD. We've tried positioning on the front feet, on the sides, in a fan, everything I could think of, and it always ends in him turning 10 seconds into the fight and Wild Horning half of our DD for ridiculous damage each. I've tried having the melee adjust but it looks too quick. It's like turnWILD HORN and half our DDs are gone before they can even 2hour. At that point he's free to Kick Out the remaining DD behind him, or turn and Wild Horn them for good measure too.

Well for the behemoth boss just make sure your guys melee from the sides since it's a frontal cone attack(And make sure the melee move to the other side when he turns). You could also have a palidan engage sentinel , and have melee run to his sides . As for the first question I have no idea; we never get marids soufly and eyes usually. This is a stupid question, but are your melee using ws upon reaching 100tp?

We had a really shitty run just now... zoned in to find the Boss is up, surrounded by Worms and its KB... we pulled the Wivre that were also up with np but tried to pull KB because we couldn't kill the worms without it.

Whole thing was a shitty mess.

    1) Can KB be kited or held safely at all?
    2) What's the best way of dealing with him? We didn't do too badly on surviving with Shellra V and Barthundra etc but it was still shitty.

As far as kiting it, I'm not sure about that.

Our last t3 , we actually had managed to pull the boss without linking any of the other mobs that popped. We weren't doing too poorly actually, holding off weapon skills/t4 magic will stop him from Thunderbolting (I think) and Meteoring. We had about 30 people and timed out/wiped due to the things insane attack speed. We did manage to get it down to about 40% though. Also, as previous post said, t3 fucks you sometimes.

We managed to pull him fine, leaving the worms there to chat amongst themselves but gah, shitty combo of mobs.
