We got him again last night and outright destroyed him with 25 people. We changed our Tier 3 salvage configuration a little so we were more melee heavy then BLM heavy and it was a joke. I think myself a bard and a few blms, a war ( Vishnevsky who failed at the start) were the only ones who died. It wasn't even a challenge (Ok it was, but it was it's much easier once you've expercined it once and can actually develope a quick stratagy).Originally Posted by Jackyl

Multiple melee assists is definitely the better choice for Ein aside from the Marid boss lo.
We did our first Wing 3 last night and won with less than 30 seconds left.
It was 12 Ahrimans > 12 Taurus > 12 Red Triple Bats + Vampyr Boss.
The Ahrimans and the Taurus were all pretty easy.
We've gotten Triple Bats before and completely destroyed them, so we assumed that the red ones would go the same way. Well, the red ones are a complete pain in the ass. In addition to AoE Attack Down, they also have AoE Accuracy Down and an AoE damage move that goes through shadows.
Our kiter aggro'd the Vampyr Boss by accident and ended up getting charmed which was actually a good thing since he split up into the bats which don't aggro and when he came back, he was hate free. The Vampyr itself either has really low HP or low defense because it goes down really fast.
I don't think that it's been mentioned before, but when it splits up into multiple dogs/bats, you need to kill the right one to make him reappear. Killing dud mobs, however, will make his HP lower when you finally do find the right one. For us, he split up at 22% and we killed all but 3 dogs. When he did reappear, he was at 5%. Only got dragon blood for drop. =/
Won tonight with about 25 people, and had 20 seconds left when we opened the chest. Mobs in order were 6 Wamoura, 6 Marids, 12 Demons (Different then the 12 demons with the Dvergr boss), and Cerberus. Had a black bird spawn and killed it, leaving a calming message in the chamber. It popped during the Marid round and left them wither either 87% or 97% hp. All the mobs were really weak, the demons went down in about 5 minutes. I think we had 12 minutes when we started on Cerb. I don't know if it was said before but it did try to use Gates. Two chambers left for Odin, but we'll have to reflag tier 2 and 3 a few more times![]()
mind sharing what exactly you did please ?Originally Posted by Jackyl
i am very frustrated with him -..-, we got him 2 times now and each time we wipe at 52-58%
what i learned from him and some JPs in our LS that found info :
1- is that demons get awaken each time he does WS , not half duration or anything
2- poeple get randomly draw in randomly which interrupt thier spells.
3- lullaby does land and sleepga II as well without ES , some resists though .
4- once each demon killed , each takes diffrent chunk of his HP.
5- there are 2 special names from the demons which is hadding the younger , hadding the elder, others are only 1 words .
6- motsognir spam those TP moves : hellclap and hellsnap , dont know which is which but we got stunga , magic attack down , magic def down and magic accuracy down. other then thundaga iII and firaga III
7- you must make sure all melees have haste cause of the demonic howl.
so the only thing i am thinking of right now , is that u might have to kill in order to weaken something about them or mega boss himself.
There's nothing special about the fight really. We had a couple of PLD's that worked on pulling the boss away from everyone else. Hate system is all f'ed up and he'll run back to other people so this was a continuous effort. BLMs would take turns using ES sleepga to make things easier. We had 2 callers and melees were divided in half to assist each caller. The 2 teams would use 2hr's at start to kill off 1-2 demons fast. BLM demons first then other jobs. Other than that, healthy amount of medicines and fast-acting mages is all you can really add to make the fight easier.Originally Posted by donnie
thanks alot , basically the key is to get dvelger away from them , so they sleep longer . Other then that we did 2hr soulvoice 6x songs to kill demons fast but assisting only 1 .

Brunhilde's cahmber. Started with 6 marid 12 devilets, second wave was 12 taurus 12 poroggos and a khim boss. Timed out with khim at 88% after about a minute of fighting, had 30 people attending. I don't see that being doable with any group of 36, and none of the waves we got were really that terrible (unsleepable dogs, etc)...anybody ever gotten a 4 wave + boss and won? -_-
Four sets of mobs is pretty common on Wing3, I don't think we've ever really had any problems handling all the mobs before boss. All our losses in Wing3 were due to inexperience facing some of the more annoying bosses [ hate that Dverger ] for the first time but we had as few as 19 and never more than 24 for any of our wing3 wins.
i think 4 sets are doable only if they arent all 12x , need some 7x set + a TP burnable boss . we go with 22-24 ppl and we toss the glass if we find more then 36 mobs .. 48 mobs + mega boss = impossible for 22 ppl
I don't think I saw anyone mention this, but the triple red bats take ~40% more damage from magic, which made them a breeze. (1800 T4's, 2800 Burst2's)
Just cleared our second Tier3 (G chamber) 8/9 :>
Single bats and clusters followed by dragons (dispelled everybody's rr upon pull, chaos blade brought everyone down to ~150) and single bombs that did not sleep to ES sleepga2 or lullaby, casted firaga3 a lot. Khim boss. Wiped to the bombs. All waves were 12 except the dragons...don't see this being beatable at all; what are we doing wrong?
Not sure but I don't think I've ever seen 48 mobs for tier III; highest I've seen was always 12 x 3 + 6 = 42 (which is still a lot).Originally Posted by donnie
I don't remember Chaos Blade being *that* strong (down to 150 hp). Still, that's a pretty shitty combo (those bombs + dragons + Khim anyway). The only tips I can offer is to make sure...Originally Posted by Leeto
- that you have a good mix of strong DPS, good healers and lots of BRDs + a few BLMs
- that your BRDs each have 1 person assigned to haste them
- that your mages aren't getting hit by easily avoidable AOEs (especially with things like Body Slam, Heaving Stomp, Self-Destruct and Firaga). I realize there's not much room sometimes, but you can always have melees fight on the right of where you enter and mages standing on the left. Eventually people will be all over the place, but mages should readjust. We *are* not made to be eating lots of damage after all ;x. On that note...
- that anyone with Stun uses it liberally and often, and maybe even have a couple of good stunners focus on stunning specific moves. Body Slam hitting 20 people = thousands of points of damage, yet it can be avoided by a single stun.
- that you focus 100% on keeping people alive, especially sleepers. Can skip haste on some melees, cursna on BLMs who insist on coming /rdm, etc. Just keep people alive because raising people = waste of mp and weakened people = can't dps on AOE mobs. Make people bring RR and R1 without asking if it gets dispelled or doesn't get reapplied.
Lhexh's numbers (19-24) seem pretty low to me, especially since he says/implies that this is enough to win tier IIIs 100% of the time once you know the bosses. Not to say I don't believe him, but I don't think every group should use that as a reference ;x
And when all else fails, just keep going back and pray for better mobs! Dumb but true ;/
Curse brought me down to 141hp from 909, and 217mp from 934. Also, the bombs seemed to have crazy resistance to sleep, ES + Sleepga II gave me resists and Lullaby wasn't working either, but a RDM said his sleepga landed on a couple of them. No idea on Repose. Feels like it has been just bad luck for us since the run before this one went really smooth, and even though we were doing great still timed out on the boss.
As for 19-24 being able to win 100% of the time... on some of these sets of mobs we've got I honestly cannot imagine it.
It's kind of a bitch considering DPS isnt exactly our shell's weak point, nor is having many people who are capable of stunning. We've just invariably gotten 4 sets of 12 mobs per set every time, even when we kill them all we generally dont have sufficient time left for the boss.Originally Posted by stinkypoo
Obviously 19-24 isn't ideal, hell I wish I had 4-5 more come every run, but it is doable. At least once you get past Wing3, Odin is a joke of a fight, had 21 for him and won with 8 minutes left playing it safe.
I know Ryko's LS isn't lacking at all on heavy DDs, they probably have a deeper group than I have, so it's probably just really bad luck. The unsleepable bombs are the worst mobs you can get in my opinion [ just need to have someone pull + kite them ], but the dragon's aren't that bad as long you stun their worst TP moves. The one thing I tend to do on T2/T3 that might be out of the norm is I don't always save 2 hours for the boss. If we see a bad group of mobs pop we'll burn SVs to kill those mobs as fast as possible.
Most mobs I've seen in tier3 is 12+12+12+6 and boss, least was 6 and boss.
