    Re: Einherjar: Wing/Tier 3

Thanks a lot for the info. I think the major difference is between your setup and ours is that we use 2 melee PTs in sets of x4 melee BRD RDM while you use 3 sets of x3 melee BRD RDM WHM. Our group tries to balance the healing out with SCH for AoE cures and I guess the graviga is helpful. Our 3rd PT in the alliance is mage based while your BLMs are outside it seems.

The BLU seems pretty important in your setup. Also, killing 3 mobs at once with 20 is pretty good ;o I hope we can mimic what you guys did... we know Odin isn't bad with 18 but these tier 3s seem like trouble.

    Thanks!

    Re: Einherjar: Wing/Tier 3

The blu is pretty important, and it takes a knowledgeable one to do it right. When I first attempted to use BLU's, I wanted to see their potential in Einherjar. I was gone for 2 years, until last August so I didn't know much about blu. The first time we tried them I brought 6 in and kept an eye on them. Most just did the normal BLU thing, dissev, cannonball, etc. However one of our sacks attempted to tank and debuff rather than damage deal. Turned out very useful, landing frightful roar helps speed damage up a bit too.

I haven't had an opportunity to try SCH much, so I would be curious to hear your take on it and its effectiveness say vs a WHM in einherjar. The graviga idea seemed to be a good one, but the timer on it seems to be way too random to be effective unless you have a sch who is good at timing when mobs should wake up.

We've been toying with the idea of removing the RDM's from PT(except the BLU's PT, since he needs phalanx2) and add extra melee in their place. Simply because the whms never have a problem with mp. So if mp isn't an issue, and sch would be better at conserving mp...I wonder if SCH could replace both WHM and RDM in each PT.

Sorry for the rambling...I was never much for "find something that works and stick with it" kind of attitude, I always gotta be trying new stuff, different techniques, and try to be more efficient. :D

This appears to be the closest possible explanation.

Dendainsonne's Meteor appears to have two "recasts".

First is the spell itself which is about 30 seconds.

Second is his rage gauge (Oh I like that). Think of it as a TP guage. It appears that maybe 1 action taken on Dendainsonne adds a tick to his Rage Gauge. Once this gauge is full, and the recast is ready, he will use Meteor.

Our LS took him down last night (vengeance!) and we attempted to zerg him at the start. He got off about 4 or 5 Meteors until we decided to get off him at about 35% or so. He doesn't seem to have crazy hate patterns like other bosses, he sticks to one person.

We put a few melee back on it, and it didn't go start to go into Rage for a while (Only ~5 DD were on it). Someone mentioned that Hundred Fists would be counter productive IF the Rage Gauge is indeed affected by number of actions taken on Dendainsonne. Might want to take that into account.

How many people did you have? We had 30 people last time we got KB, we just did soulvoice melee zerg and it was dead before mighty strikes wore off (got off 2 meteors and one thunderbolt in that time). He puts out a lot of damage but he takes damage pretty well too, I still feel burning him down if you have the numbers is the best strat.

    We had 32, with 3 being dual-boxed/leeched.

I'm in no way saying that one way is better than the other, but if your mages are low on MP, it's best to get most of the DD off so you don't have to worry about spam. Just trying to confirm what someone else had posted because I noticed not many people were clear on how Behemoth worked still.

If you want to add it to your study on its behavior then, the entire time we fought KB with the meleeburn we got nothing but "out of control" spam the entire fight (I guess because we filled its "gauge" instantly with the zerg).

How long were the intervals of Meteor? Because if the other theory is right, then he will spam "Out of Control" until his recast is up, which is presumably 30s.

Was probably around 30s, felt like normal recast. He Thunderbolted and did a couple wild horns inbetween.

Thoughts on PLD/DRK for add control?

I don't have /BLM capped (only 17) and I don't have /BRD at all. As Kaeko said, /RDM for Diaga is counterproductive - /DRK has Poisonga but I don't see Poison actually landing with like 124 skill, so I'm contemplating bringing this. Souleater + LR is a good boost for hate that doesn't require expending PLD job abilities and Stun might be useful in some specific cases as well.

    Re: Einherjar: Wing/Tier 3

If you have a few designated mages (whether RDM, BLM, SCH, or BRD) that cast sleepga/horde on the pull, wouldn't using some JA/spell on those mages after the sleep get you on the hate list just as effectively? Without having to worry about having your own -ga spell to cast? Casting your own spell is slightly quicker, but throwing a Cure I/II over 1-3 different people is pretty easy/quick to do.

And to go into what Therin was asking, PLD/DRK will have a shitload of JAs to choose from that should be ready for each wave in higher tiers, so that by itself after getting on the hate list should be enough. Especially combined with self-cures and targeted spells on individual mobs.

PLD/BLM is good because Sleepga is actually a good amount of hate. PLD/DRK casting Poisonga is like...no hate on the mobs and you can just cast cure on a BLM that cast sleepga and get hate on all the mobs. Last Resort and Souleater aren't bad though, maybe worth a try. Also get stun, can be on stun duty for Fulmination/Gates instead of being useless on the boss.

AND if Poisonga does happen to land by some fluke...Uh oh, hope you have a SCH or something to gravityga :D

I generally never have a BRD in my party as a PLD (all the DDs and BLMs get them), so I can't really just Rampart the BRD. I'd have to go with targetting them for curing them, which is somewhat risky if the BRDs layer Lullaby and not one BRD has hate on every single mob.

Worse comes to worse it wouldn't be too hard to cover all your bases in less than 30 seconds, in just throwing a light cure on all of the main sleepers. Which would be before anything would wake up anyway. Then following with Sentinel > Last Resort/Souleater/etc would be an insane and near-instant boost in hate once that's done, giving you over 7.6k total enmity (more than 4 provokes worth) on all the mobs without counting +/- enmity gear.

After which, self-curing and casting on individual mobs will only help further.

Yep. Gonna bring it next run, with either a BLU, SCH, or RDM to support with Phalanx II/Stoneskin.

    Re: Einherjar: Wing/Tier 3

Hypothetically PLD/BLM can cast Sleepga every 22.5 seconds with having Flash/Cure for extra hate tools. On top of each of those hate tools you have Rampart and Sentinel which if I am thinking correctly can be merited down to every 4:10.

So just ES+Sleepga on initial pull, with max Haste, and then pop off Sentinel/Rampart, with max Enmity, and you should have a very good amount of hate on you. And then just spam Sleepga and Flashes until next wave of mobs. Would probably have Sentinel and Rampart back up for the next set of mobs as well. If you can get really good with this have your PT setup stand right next to you for Rampart.

Edit: Max Haste would be for those who were wondering:
Capricorn Staff, Turban, Homam Hands, Homam Legs, Homam Feet, Speed/Velocious Belt, Loq Earring

With BRD in PT playing 2 Marches:
Saw Sword, Baha Mask, Homam Hands, Homam Legs, Askar Feet, Speed/Velocious Belt, Loq Earring

This would further decrease the delay in casting Sleepgas, not sure if resists become a huge problem in Einhejahr. Also tack on the Haste from a RDM/WHM and you are sitting at the cap for magic.

Not sure if this would outweigh the PLD/DRK theory but just putting my two cents in.

I would be careful using Elemental Seal, even with your shitty enfeebling skill on PLD, ES would probably make Sleepga land. I mean you can probably do ES Sleepga when the mobs are all back to the corner, but don't do it when you are pulling.

Yeah sorry, just noticed I said on pulling. What I meant was once they are all in a bundle.

/RDM is not necessary at all. Our BLU subs /WAR now for Defender since he pulls more hate than the PLD's usually, don't really need the Sleeps.
