To all the people who have had theirs for over a year: have there ever been times where you have kept yours on for extended periods of time (overnight, possibly an entire weekend, etc)?

99% of the time your 360 stops working because of that so yeah.. what's your point?Originally Posted by Huggo

My point was that you can get around it by not putting the 360 in a surge protector. Although obviously that has other downsides.
Yepp. I've accidentally left it on over night a few times. Still works great. When it breaks I'll grab an elite probably, send this one back and sell the brand new one I get back on ebay or something.Originally Posted by Epical

I gave it to my cousin since then when I got the Elite, but it's still kicking (bought it on June last year, so it's hanging in there..)
some question about the warranty stuff. For like the refurbished xbox360 that sell by gamestop/ebgames/whatever, do they also consider to have 3 years warranty when you bought them? And how about the warranty if getting off ebay count?
I think people interested in the 360 should hold off till early next year
Right after the Holidays, maybe starting Jan 10 2008, most people who get Holiday gifts that they dont want get returned within the 1st week of the new year, and most stores start mega-sales selling all the merchandise returned/etc.
Not knocking MS, I would like to get a 360 myself, but I will wait until full certanity that all problems are resolved, to some the $350-500 price tag doesnt mean much, but if im investing into a console, and the drawbacks to it are still high, I rather wait, then buy now, and get the fixed later fiasco alot of of people on this board have gone thru
All red ringed xbox's have the warranty. I've read that the problem was fixed for all xboxs shipped after late July/early August when MS officially announced that there was a bug in all 360's already on the market.Originally Posted by Osede

Wow, great logic here. Stating the 360 is plagued with problems but one should wait until Jan 10th because stores start mega sales of things that get returned? lol So you know nothing happening by Jan that will fix the RRoD and then stating there will be mega sales in fucking January on all these 360s returned??? Do you even know how retail works? (#s for last year, Nov 511k, Dec 1.1m, Jan 294k)Originally Posted by GraveRobberX
Anyways if you want one, wait til like black Friday. There will be a holiday pack that will have 2 free games with the premium. I think they're Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance + whatever sales are going on. Last year during novemeber/december you could get a 360 for $300 (premium). Also since it is the holidays you're window to return will be extended from like 30 days til the first week in January incase some RRoD does happen.
