I write stories, and compelling ones at that. I'm not worried about developing character for Bennet. They did a great job. However, if they want the development to mean something maybe it should have been someone we were familiar with... maybe it should have been someone we met before in season 1 whose death had more of an impact. Instead, all we get are idle threats just to get paintings... I mean, really. "Man, it'd be a shame if we erased all the memories of your wife and kids... better give us the info". If he really trained Bennet, he should have known Bennet would just kill him all along. It doesn't make any logical sense. If the guy knew the lengths Bennet would go to, he should have known he would not stop at simply wiping his memory. Again. Good story writers don't introduce characters and attempt to give them depth like they did with Ivan and his family only to just snuff them off the same episode. It doesn't do anything but further the plot and add shallow development.Clearly youre not a story writer. That whole scene with Ivan and Noah was nothing more than Character Development for Noah. We learn so much about him. We see how far hes willing to go, how motivated he is to protect his family and we learn that he is 100% focused on bringing the company down. Noah has gone from Evil, to Good to now Anti-Hero and youre telling me they need to focus on character development more?
So allow me to be redundant for a bit. If they wanted big Bennet Development, they should have had him kill someone a little more integral to his life and not someone we just met 5 minutes ago... not to mention Claire suddenly asking him where he was like she had any reason to in the first place.
It's not that I don't enjoy development... I just don't enjoy unnecessary plot filler.
