Re: HEROES WAS SO GOOD, OMFG! (Season 2)

Was talking to my Mother about how long the last strike took, she said it was around 5 months. So if this goes on like last strike I think we won't be seeing any new shows soon.

Haha this is pretty funny, just saw this...

I would think that if they don't reach anything by Thanksgiving, all the seasons will stay dead until next year (as in Sept next year)

    Writers suck.

I hope they realize by bitching and moaning they are upsetting 99% of the fan base and probably going to lose whatever audience advantage they might have had, and so their adjusted pay will be whatever pay they were getting before due to the smaller audience. Fucking nublets need to stop QQing and write moar.

You know the same thing can be said about the CEO's and people running the shows, right?

Exactly, they'll all lose money, too, due to the strike (which is why a strike even has influence over an employer). So in short, no strike = more money for everyone in the short term.

Don't writers get payed a lot? They often get no credit though. I hardly known of many writers and the ones I do know of is because they do other stuff. I would strike over that if anything.

Well, that's simple. Just slip their name into the middle of the rolling credits at the end, and problem solved.

The way networks run credits now, you can't read anyone's name. They always do the "crunch" where the frame is slapped into the side, and then roll them at 10x speed. That's not what the strike is about though. The writers are striking over not receiving royalties(or whatever the term is) for "new media," IE paid downloads. So when someone paid to watch an EP of Heroes on iTunes, the writers didn't get paid.

It seems alot of you dont understand why they are striking. They arent striking to get paid even more than they are currently. They are striking to get paid at all for internet and dvd sales. At the moment writers get $0 of the money made from ads on the shows shown on the internet and $0 from dvd sales. It would make sense that the people who create the characters would make some amount of money on their work. If the tv companies werent so greedy they wouldnt have to strike. And its not like theyre even asking for a ton of money. I think the percent they would get from a dvd sale would be $.04 per $20.00 dvd. The dvds probably cost $.60 to make so they tv companies are taking $19.40 on a 20 dollar dvd they dont want to give the writers 4 cents!
So don't blame the writers for this. This type of thing has to happen every once in a while to slap the studios in the face and show them who really gets people to watch the shows. The writers know the internet is the future for entertainment so they are setting this up now before they get screwed out of residuals.

Oh and on topic - i bet 50 bucks adam is peter and nathans father.

Their father was named Mr. Petrelli. His name is Adam Monroe. I don't know why they (such as Bob, who knew Mr. Petrelli) would refer to him by Adam Monroe if he were Mr. Petrelli. Adam even introduced himself as Adam. Since Adam and Bob are on different sides, especially after holding him for 30 years, I doubt they'd collaborate on hiding his identity. Only thing Bob didn't count on was Peter trusting Adam, becoming friends, and escaping together to fulfill Adam's plans. Next time he'll probably place his prisoners in cells further apart so they can't communicate.

Yeah there's no way Adam is the Petrelli's father. Peter and Adam met while in captivity.

So you think Peter wouldn't recognize his own father?

Not that I think it's likely, but I imagine he meant that Adam is their biological father, not Mr. Petrelli.

Re: HEROES WAS SO GOOD, OMFG! (Season 2)

How old were they when their father died? I thought they were young enough to where maybe that wouldnt remember what he looked like. I was under the impression that it was their father who had the idea to team up with linderman to save the world and later when Bob was talking about adam, he said it was adams idea to form the group. I thought maybe it was possible they were calling him something different so that peter wouldnt know who he was. I thought it might be possible that petrelli was an assumed name he had when he met their mom and adam was his real name.

Their father died shortly before the start of the first episodes. He's also shown in the webcomics and looks nothing like Adam.
