Re: HEROES WAS SO GOOD, OMFG! (Season 2)

It's still season 2, it was broken up into 2 volumes. May 15th is a Thursday, so that may not be the correct air date.

The entirety of season two was supposed to be the virus plotline, all 24 or so episodes. They modified it to end how it did, and the Villians arc is Season 3.

The current story arc in the Heroes comic is pretty good, at least those are still going.

No I am fully aware, but no other shows are calling off the seasons, usually they are slowly continuing them.
    Wrong
They had the episodes written/taped already and that's why you see shows like Lost coming out with new episodes. I think Lost will only have 16 episodes rather than the normal 24ish that a lot of shows have due to the strike.
BTW Lost was scheduled to only have 16 showings. They said they were doing 16 non-interrupted showings instead of the 24 showings with a month break in the middle. But the guy below you said that they only got 8 written before the writer's strike?

It originally was going to consist of 24 regular storyline episodes split into two volumes, Volume Two: Generations and Volume Three: Villains, however due to a writers' strike Volume Two was shortened and the number of episodes in Volume Three may be affected as well. During the season's breaks, 6 episodes of the mini-series Heroes: Origins were to air, however they've been postponed due to the Writers Guild of America strike.
Season 2 was always going to be 2 volumes o_o Generations was completed when Heroes ended in December. The only way the writers strike affected it was a change to the ending of Powerless.

Well according to Wikipedia, we are gonna see 8-16 episodes. Nothing right now is 100% but I have heard 16 much more than 8 because the writers had much more time to begin this season because of it's late release. This is why shows like Heroes that started early had such a short season.

Were there any fundamental changes to the ending? e.g. people being alive who weren't supposed to be, the overall outcome (Adam succeeding), etc?

The original ending had Nathan collapsing during the speech after Hiro teleported Adam away. Peter walked into the room just in time to see the vial hit the floor and break, and apparently Nathan gets sick. During Nathan's speech about the virus, Hiro and Ando talk about how he failed, Claire, Mohinder, etc, all are watching the speech when Nathan collapses at the end. That's why they called it "Powerless".

Of course, Sylar wasn't supposed to get his powers back the way he did either. I believe the original intent was for him to disappear with one of the vials.
