The only way I know of to get the 30 day trials is to buy them from stores. You get a 30 day trial and full access to the game for 4 bucks.

After the trial is up, do you end up having to pay the $30 (or however much the full game is now..), or do you just have to take up the monthly fees?

I'm trying to get my hubby into the game, but he's being difficult and I don't feel like wasting too much money on him.

They just start charging the regular monthly fee after the first month.

The $4 trials only come with the original game so you'd need RoZ, CoP, and TAU reg codes. The Vana'diel 07 collection is down to $20 so for the hassle it'd be worth it just to get the Vana 07 and forget the $4 trial since you get 30 days with a new copy of the game anyway.
