1 abjurations should drop 100%, since you can go in only every 3 days, mind you kings pop after their 3. day. I am not stating that 3 abjurations should drop 100%. but 1 at least everytime you win, and additonal once are dependend on luck.

this would also have a nice side effect maybe on crafting cursed gear.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Einherjar requiring 25 people is hardly unreasonable considering the rest of TOAU can be done with 6. You really can't expect an MMORPG to be completely without large scale events. I wouldn't want the feather system or Odin to be changed at all. The difficulty of farming it makes it unique and interesting and also adds some diversity to FFXI, even if some people get screwed for not being at the right place at the right time. Einherjar has some problems, but it's the not the exclusivity of Odin. That's always just a case of people crying over what they can't get while at the same time defending what they have but others can't get. But I agree that Einherjar is a too big part of FFXI for all of it to be nearly pointless to so many people. Not unlike Salvage before the nerf.

I'd shut up before you burn urself too badly.

Ok here's the deal, 30 mins/1 hour a week isn't horribly a bad thing for most LSes, but lets face it shit happens to the everyday man, or woman if the case my be. Power outage, party, bar raid, school work, lab work, project work ect. ect. can happen in the course of idk, lets say a year. The design is essentially bad, with the right intentions. If person A misses one event day, that's one event day which is FAR MORE REASONABLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVES, EVEN ONES THAT DON'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF IT OUTSIDE OF FFXI then they're essentially screwed till next said run. Mistake #1

Mistake #2 is the lack of notable rewards outside of shit, shit and more shit. Yea lets spend a few million and gain about 30k of it back cause of crappy rewards. Outside of Odin rewards and items from the npc, which the good stuff is far from being good for any job cept a few, coupled by the fact that some of those rewards are synthing mats that you may or may not lose, cue Apathy's Body cursed item breaking, is more salt on the wound. If the time and money was worth the effort needed to go to Odin then it wouldn't be so bad, but the fact is going though all 3 tiers, IN HOPES THAT YOUR TEAM ACTUALLY SURVIVES AND IS BIG ENOUGH TO TAKE ON ODIN, and then losing all your feathers in the end is just ridiculous. Which brings me to point #3

The lost of all feathers upon entering Odin, mistake #3. So we've just been though hell and back in 2-4 months of work trying to get people to Odin, which may include repeat runs due to mistake #1, and people are getting frustrated due to the nature of Enfailjar, refer to mistake #2, you now lose, what is essentially all that work upon ENTERING the chamber itself. So lets face it, it's a gamble of winning and losing, shit can happen, inexperience and unexpected outcomes can happen, a lot can happen during the fight that may or may not end in utter defeat.

So I tell ya, Mr. Enfailjarisperfect, is this what you think is good design? I don't give a fuck about difficulty, I'm more annoyed at the fact of the BS we'd have to put up with JUST to get 3 fucking abj and an item, I repeat, 3 fucking abj and an item. (and additionally all the gil spent on said event)

Does Enfailjar need fixing, a resounding yes. I haven't lost hope in it yet, but we'll see in time.

    Idiot Friendly Posting~

It just seems like SE DEV's didn't spend very much time developing this system(feels rushed, not creative at all). I would really like to see a study conducted by SE to show how many people actually run einherjar compared to their other 3 day wait events like limbus and dynamis from the date einherjar was put into the game.

Umm... are you honestly that retarded that you think everything in this game is aimed at every type of player? SE THEMSELVES have said its not (Do I have to troll interviews where they actually SAY THIS?!!). I would trust what SE says the intention or target demographic of a certain event a lot better than your fucking interpretation.

Losing all feathers is absurd. Look at the fucking alternatives. You want to keep all nine and have every LS spam Odin every 3 days? That's not broken. Have some extremely complex system where you dont have to redo all 9 again? Whats the point in even having 9 chambers in the first place at that point.

All I see is a bunch of sourpusses angry because they can't get their Linkshell to make it work. Boo hoo... too fucking bad.

Not all Content is made for all players... you have to be utterly retarded not to know this by now... I'm not saying its perfect. It's flawed, a typical SE job. But crying here because its too hard is so fucking weak... Man the fuck up

Read, re-read, and re-re-read again. I don't care for the losing all 9 feathers, it's losing it all upon entering, I repeat, entering, which is whack.

I've made more events/missions work pre patch than you can probably conceive, I'm just not one to eat bullshit, on top of bullshit just cause it's an event to get what I want.

And I've already threw my suggestion using SE's method of inputing suggestions. I'm not over my head to think shit can be done by complaining about it to the people who can't directly change it. I'm discussing why it's flawed, in a manner I feel.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

They can't make it so you only lose them upon winning, cause then people would just logout/force DC/warp with Odin at 1% and only leave the people in who get drops, then they'd just come back in 3 days and keep doing Odin until they lose too many people from collecting loot pool to take him down again (and who knows how few we'll be able to take him with somewhere down the road?).

What they could do is take the feathers upon entering, like they do now, but then if you time out instead of winning, give you the feathers BACK. I don't know what the system is for loot when you beat Odin, but they should make it so that as soon as he dies, you zone into the "waiting area" like it does after you hit a chest in Limbus or a BC fight (so people don't lose loot to time out)

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Well as it stands, if they kept the same system of feather key items but fixed problems 1 and 2, then problem 3 wouldn't be too much of a hassle. Really, the combinations of all 3 problems is what makes Enfailjar well... fail. If they made the wings a bit more rewarding, that's the right step in the right direction, hell it even might fix up problem #1 for all I care. The fact is, the time and money vs rewards ratio is really really really shitty.

A solution to #1 however is if you can enter regardless of if you have the proper key item, as so long as the leader who enters does. Fixing up scheduling problems that may prop up.

Low drop rates suck, but the main problem with Einherjar is that Einherjar isn't fun.

If the solution to fixing Einherjar lies only in more drops then they should just add a ??? in the middle of the room that says, "click me for the win and an abjuration of your choice".

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Still think kings are better than einherjar, I don't think einherjar solved anything atleast on my server. I rather take my 3 chances in 3 days at bagging a faf/nid than hoping I get lucky doing einherjar. If my LS claims I know someone is going to be walking away from that camp with SOMETHING to show for and possibly maybe a dream item in an ebody or ridill.

I think einherjar is just poorly implemented and suffers from extremely bad design/planning. To fix Einherjar they need to up the droprates, make it scale to the number of people who enter(was advertised lvl 60's could do it) and allow you to gain back a couple of feathers for defeating odin.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

1- the monsters inside are really unbalanced , they are not weighting monsters at all , having 7x bats for a group , while other group gets 12x bones 12x jelly 12x bombs is totally not fair , they should categorize them and mix them together . for example (IT , IT , boss ) ( tough , tough , tough , boss) (easy , easy , tough, tough , boss).

2- the loot from treasure makes it a total loss , every single other event has compensation and and some kind of reward , now for einherjar what reward is it if u have 1% rate of Abjuration , and for money items you get cerb meat x1 ... really what are they thinking , we are doing Einherjar from the begining and only 1 ABJ dropped , i know some other LSs have gotten 0 ABJ of what so ever . cant they make ABJ categorized too? , i mean poeple can do genbu every 3hrs if they wish and he will most likely drop what they want . why not make sky ABJs drop 100% since its 2 days a week event , and leave kings rare. add some KS30-like loots to the pools to give the feeling of some reward , not the 15,000 items that 99% of it sucks really bad.

3- again with the loot , how come Nleg drop from T1 wings and T2 at the same time? they literally just randomly build it soo fast without thinking , everything about Einherjar is sooooooo random , poeple should expect some kind of drops each wing , for example wing 1 hands & feet , wing II legs and head , wing III the new ABJ bodies and rarely some king ABJ body , and odin drops 1x helm or body , 1x sword or polarm , 1x 100% chance of king ABJ ( 0% chance of new body ABJs), no need for more loots.

4- in Odin chamber , why cant the valkyries drop feathers , 2-3 feathers in 1 odin fight , makes it rewarding enough to keep poeple motivated.

5- as everyone else keep saying , feathers should be lost once you win odin , not once you enter his chamber , getting to him is enough work to have this privilage.

6- i dont want time extension , kinda kills the fun of einherjar , maybe add time extension if they cannot have a good balance of monsters , then they can give extension depending on how many spawns your getting.

7- the +5min extension should not be from the time opening the box , but should be from the time you kill the last monster in Einherjar ( aka the boss) , cause we have timed out 1time looking for the chest which is pretty sad.

8- clock should start clicking once the first person enter the chamber , not once you trade the lamp , we always lose 2-3min just trading lamps and going in.

9- random mob can be chosed rather then spawn randomly , have diffrent color of chests that spawns mid-einherjar which each of them spawn a monster ( others vanish upon choosing) , and you can choose wither u want temp items , weaken monsters , reset 2hrs+full recover or add (treasure hunter) to the loot. ( think limbus)

10 - have the option to use the points u accumulated from Einherjar to get feathers from the NPC if you cleared that chamber before , have a max of 1x feather with 3000 cost every tally. this makes the poeple that miss 1 chamber can still follow the team .

i can list even more flaws in Einherjar , but i think if they do 50% of what i said , is enough to make it worthwhile.

P.S: not an english speaker sadly , so someone might need to re-write for others to understand lol.

    FFXI, you?

I didn't realize Relics were intended for everyone. Everyone was supposed to be able to be able to get Ridills and King Abj. I didn't realize Kings were targeted at the same type of player as assault and dynamis and salvage and even Einherjar.

SE themselves have even said this isn't the case. They realize they need content that ranges in appeal from the most casual player to the most hardcore. They aim their events at a target demographic.

I ask you, what game are YOU playing?

This is from the 1up Inteview arround E3

1UP: Speaking of armor, especially with TOAU you've added a lot of great new armor, which is found in Salvage and Assault. That sort of answered a question I asked you in the past, where I suggested that armor drop rates in Dynamis could be a little less frustrating. Your proposed solution was to create compelling alternatives that could be found in other activities, like Salvage, and the armor you can earn there is great. And yet people still spend hours standing around in places like Dragon's Aery trying to claim Fafnir, and so on. How do you feel about your original abjurational armor and elite armor pieces being so good that no one wants to stop camping that sort of thing? Obviously you've added possible abjuration drops to things like Einherjar, but people still stick to the classic camps.

KO: Actually, we're not really worried about that now that we have Assault and Salvage and Einherjar. People have choices now, and while it may be hard to believe, there are people out there who like to camp these things for hours on end. Before people would have to camp, whether they liked it or not. But now people have choice, people that want to camp can also camp, but they can also go to Einherjar or such. We give people the choice to let them choose, even if they like to camp for five hours. [Laughs]

1UP: Have you guys gotten any useful feedback about Einherjar? You've always been pretty good about balancing things that need balancing, and from my experience in Einherjar thus far, my alliances often get an unlucky random draw, with our last run being eight dark elementals that didn't really want to sleep whether we cast Sleepga II, or Lullaby. Usually the tanks would go down first and fast, and then the sleepers would. And then it went downhill. [Laughs]

KO: Actually, we wanted to make it difficult from the beginning. [Laughs] We wanted to make it difficult for the high level people. That doesn't mean we're not going to do anything. We just started it a month ago, and so were still trying to find out how well it's going. We are happy that it's difficult, but if any changes need to be made, they will be made. Right now it's just the luck of the draw.

Einherjar is as "difficult" as rolling dice and hoping to get them both 6's. SE's definition of difficult is funny.
