    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

So here we are again back for round 2.
    http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...ate37/hrlm.png
Fight was pretty much the same as last had few deaths along the way but overall nothing we weren't prepared for. In the end was kinda meh on the drops felt like we killed niddy. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...7/winodin2.png
But in the end we are 2-0!

Just a word of warning to anyone doing Odin in the future...

Bring a THF. The drops come from killing Odin (similar to Ouryu, and Bahamut 2.0), not from a chest. TH should help with the drops. (looking back at the SS I pointed that out in LS chat lol)

No THF and we get dick drops.

Interesting to note, No Odin drops is possible? wtf? I was dumbfounded

I don't see how those are drops to complain about <_< Unless you mean lack of Odin armor, but that seems pretty rare regardless since there's like 1 known body/head? But I agree, a thief couldn't hurt either way.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Do you fight Odin like Cerb/Khim? Basically just melee him down and stay alive through the weaponskills. If he's stunnable, are there any weapon skills that stunners should try to stop? Also, when he summons the adds, how does he do so? All 9 at once? Groups of 3? My plan is to have RDM/NINs kite the adds until they depop, but I'm wondering how many RDM/NINs I should have for this.

He seems pretty easy since I've yet to see any group lose to him except for that first JP group, but I wanna make sure I know what to expect since these 9 damn feathers represent weeks of work.

Pretty much. And he is easy, now that we have the information we have. Any group who can clear 3 tier III should be able to beat Odin.

    - summons come in sets of 3, kite them until they depop; we tried killing first set but it didn't seem to do anything. Last time the first set popped at 90% (dunno if it's time based or HP based)
    - GTFO at ~13%, until Zan goes off (which is 9% and not 10%, I believe)
    - ...that's about it.

The rest is dealing with AOEs, dispelga, sleepga, etc. The pink spear thing sometimes kills a few people (including PLDs with high HP) or puts them in the red, so have a backup tank or something. Most of the time it's not too bad though. I don't think Stun works (I come WHM so not sure). Wiki is wrong about Dread Spikes being undispellable; Finale works.

Apparently after Zen all of the 9 summons will repop at once, but I've done the fight twice now and I totally forgot about it until I read it on wiki the other day <_>...possibly because the part after Zen is very short since everyone rushes him with 2hrs etc. Could always have a rdm with crimson legs diaga them or something, since I don't think you'd want to bring 9 RDM/NINs. Also maybe killing them earlier prevents them from repopping at the end, but we still didn't bother killing any the second time we did it. Just curebomb and zerg through the last few % basically.

    Good luck!

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

We had 29 people both times. This time we had our rng+blm army assembled an just owned it. Rng does like 100ish per shot so its pretty steady damage. Blm nuke was pretty good. We had one nin kiter for adds an pld/war and pld/nin tank. One pld stood back while the other tanked until they died. Cant really prevent death accept if you get lucky like zader did with his shadow ring. Dont have screenshot but the ring went off an saved him from death. Now the fun part doing tier 1-3 again......Overall though i really like Odin fight an all the work leading up to it is worthwhile.

Odin is not stunnable. He seems to summon formers about 3 times per fight and the last set after Zantetsuken. Each set pops 3 formers which will despawn after about 2mins.

Odin is easy if you can clear tier3's, but it can still be difficult if you don't manage tank deaths good. Tanks will die from Geirrothr which seems to go off about 2-3 times per fight. This move should kill all in range so melee isn't a good choice in this fight. Instead any job that can deal damage at a distance should be used.

Geirrothr hit me for 4179 and a random mage for 5000 exactly

Is it true he only uses Geirrothr or whatever at 75 50 and 25? I think it was mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread by a group that beat him

OK so basically RNGs, BLMs, and SMNs are the way to go for Odin. Completely opposite for how you deal with the wings leading up to him lol..

Thanks for all of the info. Sounds easy enough.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Actually we do 2-3 melee party 2 blm partys and tank party on tiers 1-3 pretty consistantly. As for the random mage for 5k damage......................Was healing mp bitching at rngs cuz they were on both sides when we said rngs to one side so they didnt mpk our blms..........Sucked pretty bad getting owned for 5k but i seem to have lost that screenshot lol.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

eh melee are fine. Our first kill we had a bunch die from 1 powerful Geirrothr, without any other problems. Our second kill none of the Geirrothr killed more than 1-2 people, sometimes none. Maybe Geirrothr damage works like ga spells? I hope they didn't ninja buff it. Third Odin coming on Friday after going 9/9, will get some Geirrothr damage screens. We've done both melee heavy now with only 2-3 rngs and a blm, just make sure everyone has holy waters and other essential meds.

I don't think it goes off based on exact HP% marks, instead it may go off when it's in a certain HP% range (eg. Geirrothr may go off during 30%-70% of Odin's HP) like some of Proto-Ultima's moves during certain phases.

Yes, it will do full dispel when it's at 10% but Zantesuken don't go off at an exact HP%. I think it goes off randomly from 5%-10%HP.

It's every 10%? lol, oh well. The first time we fought him, it felt like he used a rougly equal mix of all his moves, whereas the second time it felt like he spammed the hell out of dispelga (and barely used Geirrothr), which might explain why that fight was more boring and uneventful. Either way even if he does dispelga before Zan, it shouldn't matter if you handle Zan correctly. The exact way we handled it the first time was:

    - people started getting out of range starting at 15%
    - by 13% there was almost no one left near him
    - by 11% there was only 1 PLD and 1 NIN on him, with 1 mage running in to cure if needed
    - after a few minutes of poking him, they finally got his HP to either 9 or 10%, which triggered Zan
    - Zan went off, only the PLD and NIN died
    - everyone ran him and raped him, stomping all over the NIN & PLD's bodies

The second time we had more people in range trying /kneel emotes and stuff cause of that thing they said during the festival, but it didn't work so a few more people died <_>

As for the exact % for Zan, it's hard to tell....I could have sworn it was 10% the first time, but the second time I remember seeing 9. That post above is also the first time I've heard "5-10%". The thing is I have all the percentages for TPParty turned off for my screenshots and there's a good 6 weeks between each attempt, so I kinda end up being unsure of details like that. On Friday I'll turn %s back on and I'll take screenshots of when every TP move goes off then I'll post my results.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

Both times 10%-9% for us were kinda slow, and I'm fairly positive that he started Zan /say right at 9% each time. Yeah he only uses the dispel thing every 10%, but don't think he uses it before Zan. Everyone is always checking for /say for Zan when we get him down that low, and it's always been Zan and nothing else. He has messages for the dispel move each time too (pretty sure) but nothing at 10%. Also it's probably better for melee with 2hr buff durations to use them sometime in the fight before Zan, otherwise a lot of 2hr damage can be wasted on the Yggr(sp) intimidate move he uses after.

    Re: Einherjar: Valgrind (Odin's Chamber)

I pulled hate on RNG at 11% last night and was given the duty of dropping Odin into Zan range. It used Zan around 9%/8% (Definitely under 10%) and I still had buffs including reraise to get right back up after death. He might use the full dispel some of the time before Zan, but he didn't in this instance.

I was wrong, it did not do dispel at 10%HP. Zantesuken went off at about 7%.
