So what would you say is the most efficient way to take care of Odin's summons?
Searched but didn't really find anything
On a related note; has anyone ever killed the Valkyries? If so, what happened?
Most efficient is to just have 3 PLD/NIN or RDM/NIN or heck NIN for that matter each assigned to one pop per summon set (3 sets of 3 summons) and they just hold it and shadow tank for around 1-2mins, they get disinterested and return to Odin to depop. These are a joke to hold as RDM/NIN, Slow 2 owns them, PLD should have no problem either.
On a separate note, /hate for Nlegs drop, we've only seen 1 drop in 20 Odins, I've been waiting forever (I lost on the only pair we got with a 793, lost to ~820) for them to drop again. And wow at almost tossing Fork, that's one of our most wanted items lol. Oddly enough we also had 2 straight ebodys off Odin, but no drop last kill.
Rdm/nin with PDT gear, 4-5 pairs of powder boots and tav tacos. Use a pair of boots just before each 10%, diaga if pop and run, equip another pair of powder boots while running and use if needed, with shadows, food, buffs, gear they take a long time to put you in any real danger but extra pairs of boots just makes fight a lot safer (for the sake of 10-20k a pair and will last 10~ odins each).
We just have a thf/whm diaga and run, works like a charm.
Last Odin the LS just used a single rdm/nin with multiple powder boots and just flee'd them away. Unless your ls takes a ridiculous amount of time to take down 10% life, 3-4 boots should be more than enough.

Best drops so far :D
We're doing our first odin tonight, but we have only 1 rng and 1 smn, and 24 people.
I was thinking something like:
Tank PT
WHM
PLD
PLD
RDM
BRD
COR
DD PT1
COR
BRD
WHM
RNG
DRK
WAR
DD PT2
DRG
DRG
SAM
SAM
BRD
RDM
Holding PT
WHM
RDM/NIN
PLD/NIN
THF/NIN
SMN
BLM
That's pretty much all we have to work with, tops... I was thinking if we keep Angon+DiaIII up full time damage dealing wouldn't be too big of a problem. My main fear is taking too much AoE damage.
Is this going to be doable?
I'd just like to point out for statistics that in 11 Odin's, I believe we've gotten 1 or 2 E Bodies (I can only remember one, but we have to have had 2, right?) and like 7 A. Bodies.
We've got quite a few W Bodies, 2 P Bodies, I think 1 N Legs. Personally, I just want W Head... I'm convinced it just won't drop.
Odin stuff I think Hofud is our rare drop... probably Val. Body. We've got like 6 Odin Helmets and 2 or 3 forks. I'm compiling actual statistics, but it's not done yet, sorry :/
Just found it odd to see groups going 13 Odins with 8 E Bodies and 1 Dalmatica. I wish we could have some E Bodies!
We timed out @7% because of stupidity.
First off, the DD can't read and only brought about 1 piece of food each wtf.
Second, I don't know what the fuck our brds were doing but they were only buffing 2/4 DD per party.
Last, we were still in good shape till we had to proc Zantetsuken, had about 2-3 minutes left approaching this point. The plan was to all run away at 11% and use the RNG and DD to proc it while everyone else was getting SV buffs. The DD I specifically selected to go proc it ran away too, and when I told them to go back and proc it, they sat there without a word.
Zantetsuken went off with well under a minute left and the DD got to Odin and started attacking him, but timed out at 7%
/Sigh
Oh well, that's all you can reasonably expect from a pickup einherjar shell on their first Odin I guess, but I still waned the win dammit. 7mil in glasses and counting. The hit in the pocket won't be as painful when we beat his ass in a couple weeks. Need 4 more wins to get back to him.
Did notice that conventional DD worked completely fine on him though. He didn't have any real threatening moves. The RNG was a real beast too.
Odin #14 with 22 people. (23 if you include 2-boxed TH3 mule)
H Body (#4)
E Legs
H Hands
P Body (#3)
V Helm (#4)
Got the 10 minute warning just as we were setting up to force Zantetsuken.
Our resident SAM sacrifice took him down from 11% to 8% :D
Then our rng took it down from 8% to 6% it was over before we even got started
Died within 1 minute after Zantetsuken went off, another great job, keep it up FC!
If you are nearing Zantesukin phase with 2-3 minutes left, you are already in trouble. Super intimidate mode will fuck your world up (as far as damage goes). Not to say you cant save 2hours/JAs/Icarus wings for this phase, but even 1% can seem like forever if intimidates have their way.
And ya, our group has had our close calls with 16-18 man Odins(we dont reclear wings if people miss), but never actually timed out.
We did however get screwed on drops on Odin 20 a while back. Was like "oh nice, this is our 20th Odin, maybe we will be rewarded with... WTF #$#$LIJLK P.hands, P.body, H.legs".
