The time between battles is so they can give players an accurate time for their battle in the event that some fights go longer or shorter than expected. If they shorten the wait time, they also shorten the maximum battle length.

Well they obviously had no problem having us redownload one zone of each of the cities for an event entry-point barely anyone participates in.Originally Posted by Avé

Besides, the Pit is copy-pasta, would take no effort at all to add extra cages, and their respective NPCs, and it's a stupidly simple map, wouldn't be large in file-size at all, aside from the texturing.
I do believe the wait time in between battles is so players have an ample amount of time to get to their cages. Otherwise it's almost useless to have players go there if battles start instantly (Would need to Auto-Warp players to their cages without their consent to reduce time in between battles).Originally Posted by Cylo
Not really - as was said in the other thread, the duration of the start of one battle to the start of the next seems fixed duration. All they need do is either A. Not restrict battle duration, but have the call up for the next players happen as soon as the previous despawn (if a fight lasts 20 seconds, start the next in 20 seconds +30 seconds for the players to get to their place) or B. Have the fixed duration of the fight much lower (less desirable in my opinion).Originally Posted by Jaybar
Whatever they do, the current system really isn't that good. At the moment, if they fight lasts the full duration, the people still have x amount of time to get to their cage. So, just make it that this time starts from the moment the mob despawns. Screw accurate time estimation till next battle, Id prefer to wait 10-20 minutes not knowing exactly how long, than 40 minutes knowing exactly when.
It's sorta sad to see, but:
Chocobo Racing : Met with relative yawnfest. So when S-E does their next minigame, they gauge what's needed as much less...
Pankration: ....which instead turns out incredibly popular, as apparently half the server population are Pokemon fanatics. Pits become sardine tins of players wanting to fight their monsters.
Heck, at this point I think some people would do nothing but become Poke...er...Pankration Masters if they could. Clearly, we need to open a few Gyms in the other cities.
I'm not kidding on that one. Especially if they let us use 3 reflector battles, including vs. NPC's.
At this point, that would make my monster-battling head go KABOOM.
What can I be doing wrong? I've got the trade macro. I wait until near the end of the fight before using my macro. I face a wall in first person mode to try and minimize visual lag. If the entry message comes up, I click through it as fast as I can. Then the NPC tells me to wait until the crowds die down and that my entry wasn't processed.Originally Posted by Seki
The problem is prolly that most ppl are now using a trade macro, so you have to have your timing down solid in order to get in. But if your having this much trouble then I would just suggest trying at lower population times (if you can).
btw - nice determination if ur having such crappy luck
This shit is getting ridiculous, there's no question in my mind that people have bots reading memory and getting signed up before it's even remotely humanly possible.
Sorry but it's fuckin noon on a school day (like 4am in Japan) and not only have I failed trying to get in 10+ times straight (and yes I know what I'm doing I didn't get to level 32 purely off diablo without winning a single champ by sucking at signing up.), but several of the times people have gotten it so fast that the app process never even opens up. Not. Freaking. Possible.
OMFG I FUCKING FINALLY JUST GOT THROUGH IT AND GOT FUCKING PUDDLED OMFGGGFDASGSDGSJGLSADGSDG
12 minute wait on remora
Looks like it's dying down a bit, over here at least. I didn't have to wait to sign up for Diablo all afternoon (well the past 3 hours) and the longest wait time I got was 82 mins.
On Phoenix, during JP peak time, it's practically impossible to get in. 42+ minute wait times in every cage, and I was like 1/5 trades every time I actually wanted to fight. But today it's slowed a bit and there are still 20-30 minute waits, at least in Carnage.Originally Posted by Avé
it's dying way down outside of diablo, 36 minute wait tops in all the other cages
Playing the afternoon(EU time I guess) makes things amazingly better, at least in a semi-low populace server like midgard. During Besieged it's also good. Combine the two... and enjoy your 12 minute wait times.
There are ways to not have to spam macro and click enter so many times...Someone has already posted a much more efficient method somewhere, but in fear for my reservation slots.....I shall let you browse around and find it like I didOriginally Posted by Plow
Unless no one has a problem with letting out the "secret[?]" I went 6/6 using the method and even got partner to reserve slot 2x in a row.
Hint: Pressing enter once > Pressing Enter 2x, Up Arrow, Enter. [If you catch the hint, other than logically...]
On hades server it still seems to be full on, all the time with the brief exception of besieged.
I wonder if i should change servers >.>
Tried that today, no go, all Cages still brim full on Odin. And I can't use the "trick" because my computer is to unreliable on such precise timing.Originally Posted by BRP
I level(or attempt to level) my taru PLD after I sign up for Diablo so it doesn't matter to me.

I'm pretty sure if people could only get into a fight once ever 5 hours instead of 1.5, most of us wouldn't mind as long as it meant it didn't take 30 minutes spamming an npc in order to even get into a match. I know I wouldn't mind.Originally Posted by Marcicus

Signing up isn't that bad either. Around 3 EST works for me. Got in the Diablo in like 30-60 mins.Originally Posted by Plow
