What I don't understand is that GameFAQs (read: Jeff "CJayC" Veasey) did the exact same thing, except instead of for the amounts Taj posted, it was for around 1,000,000. He sold to CNET and became a "full-time employee/stockholder" just like this situation.

Nobody had pitchforks and torches out then, the only difference here is that GameFAQs didn't hold a fundraiser. (which I'm still wondering how CJayC afforded to host before he sold out to CNET)

When you ignore the troll accounts, the people who cant bother to level their own characters and the random gilbuyer here and there it's a pretty decent place.
