Hello, I just started playing again, I have gotten a new computer since I last played - no matter how much I tinker with settings I can't fix this, and can't find anyone else that has had the problem either.
Setup:
nVidia 8800 GTS
21 inch Widescreen ViewSonic LCD

monitor dont matter son, if it was the monitor it wouldnt show up like that in a screen shot
what OS? vista i bet? if its vista upgrade to xp problem solved.

No, XP home.
Problem was I hadn't updated my drivers to the newest, doing that got rid of the whited out menus. Sounds like people still having problems with Vista + 8800s though.

I don't know if they fixed that bug yet, but the 8800 gts will sometimes turn the menu buttons white if your resolution is that of an HDTV (1920x1080), playing at a lower resolution like 1280x1024 doesn't have the same problem.

Yes, updated to newest drivers on nvidia's site.
I'm playing in 1680x1050, background resolution 2048x2048
