Can 1 video card support a flat panel monitor that grande?

Yeah, I do it with mine. I have a 32" Samsung HDTV connected as my monitor using a DVI>HDMI cable. Works like a charm.

Actually, with my Samsung TV, yes, native resolution is best. If you move away from the 720p resolution, letters can become distorted. Similar to the old laptop LCD screens. My Samsung is a couple of years old however, and they have made strides towards correcting this issue.

PC gaming will always be superior to console gaming....but if you think a mouse and keyboard is too easy (I mean seriously the mouse just makes killing shit way too easy) then a console would be best.

Just what exactly makes PC gaming "superior"? The ability to warez all the games easily? :D
Or perhaps keyboard and mouse? Well, UT3 PS3 version will support USB keyboard and mouse. And I'm sure more games will follow.
Personally, I don't see anything "superior" about having to play on 800x600 resolution on a tiny screen in order to play the game lag free on a decent FPS.

mouse and keyboard is the main reason i like pc fps more. they should have implemented mouse and keyboard on consoles earlier. Console FPS up until now made me feel like a retard in a neck brace. Quake 3 for the dreamcast was the perfect example of this: they allowed the DC players to play alongside PC players and they couldn't do shit haha

Don't mean to hijack the thread but i'm just wondering to all you experts on pcs how you think my pc holds up.

It wasn't exactly a budget rig, it ran about $1800 after rebates.

Case: Antec 900 with one extra fan to cool the gpu (5 case fans total)
Mobo: EVGA 680i NF68-A1
CPU: Q6600 (b3 OCd to 2.85ghz)
CPU cooler: arctic freezer pro 92mm
RAM: 4gigs OCZ reaper 800 mhz (OCd to 950mhz 4-3-3-12, passes memtest and what not no problem)
Hard Drive: 7200RPM Samsung Spinpoint 500gig
Optical Drive: 18x lightscribe dvd/cd burner
PSU: 700W Coolmax Modular power supply
Video Card: evga 8800gtx 768mb OCd to 634core 1008mhz memory speed
Monitor: 20" scepter widescreen monitor

Its been running everything perfectly at max settings, the only thing i sort of regretted was getting a 680i board instead of P35 so i could upgrade to DDR3 in the future, as i doubt ill ever run SLI video cards.

I would've done a different MOBO like you said with the p35 chipset and wouldn't have bothered getting a quad core as it's not even remotely relevant in the computer world yet., everything else looks good, although if the monitor is new i'm not sure why you wouldn't have gone just a little bigger to take advantage of the awesome video card, 20" is good, but 24" is about perfect for the 8800gtx.

About the same price as my PC was, or would've been if i actually sent in the rebates except i did 2gb corsair xms3 ddr3 ram at 1333mhz, p5k3 deluxe mobo and an e6600 OC to 3.0ghz for the 1333 FSB. (actually i'm running at 3.023 ghz and 1343 FSB, just checked cpu-z, bus speed is at 336mhz

I was going to go with a dual core, then the quad price dropped, and i figured since it would then cost as much as the dual core i was going to get, to quote ganiman, "Why not?"

People who wanna build computers from here on out should wait til january if they wanna splurge. The core 2 duo lineup of the e8000's coming out early next year will blow away anything out right now. who knows how expensive they'll be though.

Just looked at the quad vs. C2D price again, I guess it really doesn't matter since it's only like 50 bucks more now. Unless you do video editing and stuff though i don't think you'll ever use all 4 cores.

Buy it, don't even think twice, you wont regret it. Best money spent on any item for my pc ever. It's so durable, and just does so much. I'll never get anything other than this type of keyboard again.

I have a G7 weighted wired mouse, the weights are awesome if you are big into FPS and are competitive at all. I just wish I could bring it with me to more tourney's. I'll never get another wireless mouse again either. Such an awesome combo really, logitech is awesome.

Anyhow, I dont plan on doing any major upgrades or building another computer until I see the market and performance results after AMD releases the Barcelona and Intel's response, and the release of the NVIDIA 9 series graphics cards, and ATI's response. This should all happen within the next year to two years.

I'm so jealous of my friend's mom, I don't know the exact system specs but... She just spent around 2-3 grand or so on a new setup. I just remember hearing it has 4 gigs of RAM, two HDs with 800 gigs of memory each, two dual core intel processors, a 32" flatscreen, and who knows what else. She does video editting so yeah, I'd expect the rest of the specs were probably just as insane.
