does it do WS a lot with this combo? because I believe watch your opponent.... and give a little more bite will makes very tame and very aggressive which wasn't so good.

It was my understanding that 'watch your opponent' made it hold its TP to try to stun WSs and spells?

Irene, my bunny is set up with the somewhat tame/aggressive, and he uses his TP as soon as he has it.

    Re: Pankration Command Strategy

It will WS with "Watch your opponent.." + "Give it a bit more bite" although probably not its most damaging ws. My mandy sticks to wild oats and scream in this setup. The key thing is the side attacking that it does though. If you want your opponent to stun/sleep the mob when it attempts a ws you would need "Watch your opponent.." + "Guard! Block!..". Not sure about the other 2 combos with "Watch your opponent.." since I haven't really used them a lot... I remember using it with "Show no mercy!" and my mandy spammed headbutt unusually often.

    Re: Pankration Command Strategy

so I guess "somewhat tamed, somewhat aggressive" (by NPC) only applies to Rabbit. This is one of the fight taken after i get the right temperament. This is also the only one that it uses 1 WS. and it's not even damage WS but a dispel wind.... It tends to save TP way more than 300 :[ with "no mercy", the fastest i've seen it use TP is after 3 hits to opponent while receiving 2-3 hits. I lost this fight of course (like I said, usually need WS to win^^). I think It might use WS if I change it to very aggressive but it'll be byebye to side attacks, also this enemy is evasion build while i'm @Lv20 accuracy bonus.

I've wondered that. My first mob would never side attack, even once I got him to "somewhat tamed, somewhat aggressive" from the NPC.

I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to or dreading years from now, when all this will be known for sure.

    Re: Pankration Command Strategy

at tame+s.w. aggressive as well as s.w. tame+s.w. aggressive my Puk would side attack on opponent's TP or spell usage without me saying anything. I have been going up on the command platforms as much as I can because I was under the impression that it would help raise its discipline. Can anyone say whether discipline goes up automatically? Mine is level 27 and at 25 it hit "slightly above normal" discipline.

Also, I have a problem with my Puk not using any abilities. It got Ill Wind at or somewhere before level 22 and since then it's only used it once. Other times I made it "Guard block parry" to get Obfuscate, but when I use "Show no mercy" it sits there attacking but never actually uses TP. What's the deal?

I could also be seeing things, but when I fought a ghost mob I used "Give more bite" and my puk moved to the side without the ghost actually doing anything. Has anyone seen something similar?

i've noticed this too. my malboro will just swing at the opponent but will only use bad breath when the other guy is only at like 10% health... it is really frusterating because my plan was to get all those enfeebles off as early as possible and i cant seem to get it to work correctly.

What "wild" command did you give it? "Think, think again", "Dont think, kill" etc. The behavior is dependent on the combination of the two. And from what I've noticed, the closer the mob is to the max temperament the commands will take them to, the better they behave given those commands. Also at s.w. tame+s.w. aggressive my pet was also side attacking a lot, I think I am now at tame and aggressive from the side attack commands. It seems to me you can't just predict behavior from its temperament.. the combination of commands you give it GIVEN that particular temperament will produce a particular behavior. If my pet is "Extremely aggressive" and "Extremely wild" I don't think it will be running away much from TP moves given the appropriate commands, or saving tp to stun/sleep the opponent's ws. I can't recall my mandy ever running away when it was extremely aggressive no matter what I told it...

    Re: Pankration Command Strategy

This may be completely out of left field, but I think certain things can cause a command to not be processed by your monster. "Don't think kill" and "show no mercy" do absolutely nothing for my Puk.... this could be the job causing this, the monster family or maybe even the temperament, but something is definitely up.

EDIT: At least it's discipline is "high" from me shouting at it. Does anyone know if that's the cause of the increase or does it happen automatically as well.

I guess you have a point. I went from "extremely aggressive" to "somewhat aggressive" therefore I had to spam "guard...." to reach it which proves he only save TP to do a defensive WS. Going to bring it down to somewhat defensive and spam "no mercy" to bring it back up see how it goes.
on the same note, ThistleChaser, do you remember from which temperament you start with and which command you use to bring your rabbit there?

Hmm try getting it up to Extremely Wild and Extremely Aggressive. Those commands might be more effective then.

Do the temperaments permanatly lock in? I think I made a mistake and have an Extrememly Tame/Defensive bird... spamming aggressive commands all day today didin't budge it. What's the current thoguht?

I'm in the process of doing that now, it went from SW Tame + SW Agg. to SW Wild + Agg. and he pulled off a single crosswind at the end of a fight when I gave him show now mercy, in the next fight however I didn't tell him anything and as a result he didn't do anything. So I think his current rating may be good enough to actually make him react to "Show no Meercy" but not enough for him to attackwithout being told.

Hmm they should be changing it unless you are not doing the right commands. What commands are you using? Also it takes a few fights usually to change, and I think you need to tell it the command each fight.

Nope. You can always change it. I messed up my bunny and then eventually got him back into shape. Took a while though.

I don't remember what he started as, other than it took a lot of steps to change.

He needed to get tamer, so I did the ... um... wish I had a list of the commands. The one 'think then strike', I think it was. He also needed to get more aggressive so I used the last command 'kill kill kill' I think it was?

I have XP static tonight, but after that I'll try to remember to take a trip up to the platform and see.

I got my crab deep into extremely tame and it took a long time to get him to somewhat wild, like 5 levels or more.

what's the general opinion on temperments?

I started with a v.tame and v.aggressive scorp and he's not moved; just wondering if I should try to move him at all?

    Re: Pankration Command Strategy

My Puk's level 37 now and for the past 4 fights I've been spamming "Don't think, kill!" almost exclusively. It hasn't budged from "wild+agg." while doing so. The "Don't think, kill!" is the wildest command on the tame>wild spectrum is it not? Seing as how "show no mercy" only changes aggressiveness. So, right now I'm really stumped on what is stopping my Puk from becoming more aggressive. The bad thing about "wild+agg." is that the "Give a little bit more bite" command has NO effect and I need to actually be PRESENT and say "show no mercy" in order for him to even use his tp. Otherwise he just sits there.
