They still have an out hole, and that's all that really matters.

I'm just wondering whether Dancer will be seen as more of a DD or support. Traditionally (in FFV), Dancer specialized in DD (Sword Dance, Mystery Waltz (MP), that HP-drain one, etc.) and certain debuffs (confuse, charm, etc.) They had no party buffs. Therefore, I doubt Dancer will have any party buffs in FFXI.
If anything, maybe they'll specialize in the higher tier debuffs that mages don't get access to. Like confuse (if they add it), petrify, terror, curse, virus, etc.
Red Mages all over Vana'diel are going to give birth to kittens if something like this happens.Originally Posted by Khamsin

Well I like playing support roles so lets see what SE has created thus far.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Well let's see BRD is support centric with strong debuff and buffing ability, Corsair is DD/Buffing centric, with pretty good damage capabilities and excellent buffing skills, decent debuffing ability (refer to quick draw). RDM has always been excellent debuffing/healing roll with good buffing skills (personally I don't like RDM much lol).
After reading this, it's plausible to have a DD centric/debuffing class, opposite but similar to that of a COR. Well I guess we'll just wait and see till they officially have this job released.
My theory is that they'll have a channeled dance that's mainly a DoT (increases with level or some stat/gear/skill) and you learn new dances every few levels. Each dance will be associated with a certain debuff. So there will be a Slow dance, Paralyze dance, etc. The dance would need to be a massive DoT to be useful, and they'd also need a few other abilities like some form of instant damage (like Quick Shot or Jump) or maybe TP would accumulate throughout dancing and you'd get a new WS (new weapon type special to dancers like that Cashmere stuff in FFT) though I'd rather it be a bit more centered around debuffs and have some party buffs, I think this works better...we'll see if Dancer is the job and what SE has planned though.Originally Posted by Khamsin
wow.. this seems to be the only forum not completely bashing Dancer (lolalla, lolKI)
Im seriously looking forward to it.. i mean hearing all this about FFT Dancer sounds pretty awesome...
We should be getting the trailer sometime today(since its friday the 22nd there, it'll be a while cuz its still morning there around 4-5am i think)
I wanna see the Male AF lol.. i doubt they'll have a skirt but hey... would be funny to see xD
KI is saying this job is a tank, so obviously you are wrong sir.Originally Posted by Khamsin
I would be hard pressed seeing this as a tank job rofl. Keeping hate by "Dazzling" the mob XD.
I got the sudden image of Jem tanking a mob, her being truly outrageous would be enough.Originally Posted by Zarath
