Don't remember if anyone mentioned in the thread yet, that the clip of the dancer in the video comes looks like it's from the pub in South Sandy, which also happens to have a blonde hume female at one of the tables iirc, bin su long.

If Bard isn't male only, Dancer wont be female only. What I'm afraid of, however, if that they'll reskin male clamming gear just like they did here with the female's. I REALLY don't wanna see any more male midriff. Males wont have flowers or lace, that's a given, but it may be just as skimpy. ~_~;

I can envision the male version will have a red dress-shirt with a big collar, with it exposing a fair bit of the chest.. probably in a V shaped fashion. Think Ricky Martin trying to look Spanish. It will probably get puffed or open sleeves

I am going with the male dance animation is the one in the trailer that the backup dancers do, and the AF will be something like Bartz as Dancer in FF5, so still female > male

Neither were ever restricted to gender at any point in the main FF series. Tactics isn't considered part of the main lineage anyway.. besides, BRD already proves its gender rule doesnt matter

Historically, the terms monk and bard have been fairly gender specific, particularly monk.

It's probably safe to say that there will be no gender specific jobs introduced into FFXI at any point.

I think the female equivalent of a Monk would probably be a Nun. No idea about the bard though.

I just went there, the blonde hume female inside is the wrong model, but the blonde hume female outside is the right model. The one with the right model is Katharina, and advertises for the pub. The one inside is Najjar, a model looking for work.

Monk is male (with nun as the female equivalent).

I believe Bard is technically gender neutral, but as Cadsuane pointed out, has, at least in Britain, traditionally been a male dominated job, even to the point where their theater groups would be all male, even with female roles. But in(on?) mainland Europe I believe it was more common to have female as well as male "Bards".

Personally, I'm looking forward to the Elvaan F dancers ^^ and hopefully whatever they give Elvaan males won't be as.. interesting as some of the other armor (like Sha'ir manteel) we got.
