ok so now that zombie freud has risen from the dead to express his expert psychological opinion, can we officially declare this the worst thread ever, lock it, and forget it ever happened?
    Not yet.

Nobody mentioned how he's endorsing pedophilia, raping underage girls, then urinating on them after sex.

    OK, done :D

You got that reversed. She was BLM And SMN combined when she returned. She lost her ability to use White Magic.
No, she was a smn always, that could cast black magic at first, then only white magic after. So I wouldn't call her a "BLM and SMN combined". As far as what exactly to call it, her BLM was a storyline device with the whole ice wall/scared to cast fire cause of childhood trauma deal, then switched to whm to be more useful and show she changed. So as far as the story goes she's mainly a SMN, and my point was just to add a missed example of SE switching things around with job abilities in past FF's.

As I said, when she returned (Half way into the game.) She was a SMN and BLM Regardless of what you might consider first, either way. She was a powerful Summoner AND a powerful Black Mage (She had access to ALL black mage spells) all in one. But she lost the ability to cast white magic.

    From wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters ... Fantasy_IV

    Rydia
Due to her innocence and pure heart, Rydia (????, Ridia?), is one of the most powerful summoners in the entire village of Mist. When Cecil and Kain travel through the Mist Cave to reach Rydia's village, they kill the Mist Dragon that was summoned to protect the path. Because monsters are linked to their Summoners, Cecil and Kain accidentally kill Rydia's mother in the process. On top of this, they set the entire village ablaze with the Bomb Ring, which automatically erupts the moment they enter Mist. Rydia becomes enraged and attacks them, summoning Titan who causes an earthquake that separates Cecil and Kain. Cecil takes the unconscious Rydia to Kaipo; when she regains her senses, she initially cannot forgive him but agrees to join him after he defeats some soldiers who want to kill her. Rydia is swallowed by Leviathan and is taken to the Land of Summons. Due to the different flow of time, she physically matures during her stay. Having mastered summoning at the expense of white magic, she saves Cecil from Golbez's Shadow Dragon in the Dwarven Castle's Crystal room and rejoins the party. She returns to the Land of Summons in the end, and it is apparent that Edge is infatuated with her.

    Re: Dancer

Did anyone notice in the scene in the Wotg trailer at 2:20 minute in (54%) where the single female dancer is dancing and the 2 male dancer's are behind something odd? The 2 male dancers start completely different dance moves but finish in the same "~tadaa~" like fashion...
I'll call Dancer1 on the left and Dancer2 on the right

Dancer1 starts arms wide out, then hunches, lifts his left arm up but covers his face with his right elbow, and finishes up with both hands up outwards and down to the sides [at this point both dancers are in the same motion]. When he leaps in the air his, left arm is at a 90degree angle and his right arm is across his body horizontally. Lands from being in the air and lifts his right hand high facing upwards and his left hand behind his body.

Dancer2 starts hunched over, left arm forward and the right over it, brings both arms above his head while leaning back a bit. Spreads both arms wide open to his sides. When he leaps again into the air his right arm is forward (opposite to Dancer1) and the left arm lower parallel to the ground. Dancer1 and Dancer2 have different but similar positions. Lands from being in the air and lifts his right hand high facing upwards and his left hand behind his body.

Speculate what you will but a bard or corsair doesn't use 2 different animations...

Chances are it's just for a CS, maybe for the job quest it's self or a mission.
There's an Automation in Whitegate that does a Pirouette all the time, doesn't meen everyone else's can.

Technically, they can. When you /dance, it dances.

    Re: Dancer

I was just thinking, perhaps the job will vary its use based upon current party members. In a like manner, similar to Corsair, whose buffs vary in strength partly based upon jobs in the party.

I'm not sure exactly how to put it, but perhaps their dances will be affected by this sort of behavior?

I just couldn't help but think how they might be acceptionally good if there was a Bard in the party. And that made me lead onto thinking that maybe each respective job will give them new abilities, or dances, based upon other members in the party.

    Re: Dancer

I mean, I imagine different dances could have different animations. It's not hard to fathom-- Dances would be much more animation-intensive than like, songs or magic, so I think it's somewhat understandable beyond lolps2limitations.

maybe dances will differ among races? i mean its entirely possible, judging by the way each race holds weapons differently and cast differently

    Re: Dancer

Well.. Im not holding out on multiple dances.. considering how every bard song sounds the same.

Unless they actually come back and add a bunch of new melodies for different songs.. which is not likely ,since beyond the superficial of it, its just a casting animation...

so... I'm guessing the one the Dancer girl is doing is the dance casting animation..
and the ones the males are doing are sub-animations.. maybe animation for Dancer JAs. I just as hell hope that males will do some tight pops in their dances too.

and probably 1 of these will end up being animation for /dance emotes

but since I was so caught up in the discussion above.. i never really did state what I think Dancer will be..

Based on the video and description on the site, I think Dancer will be a support job. Mainly a buffer but also a slight debuffer. As far as I can guesstimate, buffing in the way of enspelling their own weapons to deal more damage per hit - as seen with the flashy dagger stroke by the Dancer. If they were on the front lines, there musta been something they were doing good that made them happen to be there... It could be a support role or offensive... so its pretty hard to guess..

The part of the video showing new WS seem to hint at a few things..
1 could be that a Dancers buffs may be able to unlock like say 1 special job specific WS for each job. There were no Dancers there but maybe subjob is enough to do the trick.
2 could be that its hinting at something yet unrevealed. The WS all seem to have some form of elemental nature, which seems rather interesting. I saw ice, fire probably lightning and the rose could be earth...

Dont brds have 3 animations (singing, horn and string)? And all three sound diffrent, just they play the same song.

    Re: Dancer

Spellwise, actually its all just 1 animation really.. the spell portion of it is really just the musical notes. That remains constant regardless of instrument.. The variation for each race happens with every spell animation (they move differently obviously) and the difference in instrument playing is about the same as bow and gun firing difference. It has a visual impact so the difference is necessary

but Dancers don't use any instruments so other than for variety there is no 'functional' visual necessity to make them different.

Then again, I think SE will introduce more animation somehow...
Most likely 1 for spell casting, and the others for unique JAs...

The only odd thing about it is that they are different animations, equipped identically, same race but different hair body, face, characters but --dramatic pause-- they start and end at the same time.

Bard's have different animations due to equipment type. Rangers shoot differently depending on equipment type. Dancer's dance differently because, why?

Of course it could be just for a cutscene, ToAU shows us many uniquely positioned NPC's during cutscenes, but it seems like SE was showing us for a reason.

It's probably just nothing more than a CS animation. However, I'm willing to bet that each dance will look different. WSs do, and it'd be pretty boring whacking away at the enemy with the same dance animation over and over.

It's pretty boring for a bard to listen to the same tune for all their songs. The base moves of each dance will probably be same(S-E: "PS2 limitations"), with a variation for single buff, party buff, single debuff, group debuff perhaps, but unlikely. The spell animations afterwards will definitely be different based on dance.

If they buff/debuff, I hadn't really considered that. That could be a new twist on the job.

I can't imagine being a bard. Castle O drives me absolutely freaking insane.
