I have no idea what to think whenever people say this. Every time I play FFT, I get a Dancer as soon as possible. I don't use a Bard much unless I'm doing something specific, but I use a Dancer all the time.

A direct translation of them to FFXI wouldn't work, of course; their thing was "AoE" (well, global) debuffs, and while that might be great for Einherjar and maybe Dynamis, and a few Assaults, usually it's a bunch of PCs against one enemy at a time (even if there are others claimed, they're usually sleeping). It will be interesting to see what they do.

Well BLU got a lot of AoE stuff too, considering AoE was pretty rare beyond certain WSes and -aga spells. I wouldn't be too surprised in Dancer was more AoE specific than previous jobs.

But what weapons can they use?(Not like it matters, like BRD who suck in melee capabilities.) But they could get a decent rating on Staff and thats it, I'm also expecting a "Ranged" slot for them, but not sure what item it would be to activate dances, etc;.

Based on the past versions, could see dagger and possibly katana making an appearance.

Since the Dancers from FFV and Tactics don't really translate, they actually could have gone with making it a sort of evasion-based tanking class. Dancing distracts the mob to keep hate locked on the Dancer. They'd probably severely underpower it if they went this route, but it's an alternative to making it a support job.

Dancer could make sense with H2H skill, or staff skill so they can use poles.
