maybe me and my friends arent that "great" or anything.. but co-op on legendary is just bad ass and tons of fun.. they were kicking our ass but its a great accomplishment each time u get past a certain section and ur all like "hell ya!" lol
Maybe its easier w/4 ppl, we just were doing 3 person co-op

Go to your service record on the bungie website and then click on career stats. Gives you your K:D ratio as well as the medals you have obtained and how many kills and deaths you have with each gun.

The first time I played through gears I did co-op on Insane and that's exactly what it was like the whole time lol, so yeah it is.

K:D ratio really doesn't mean much unless your only doing solo play. If you play any of the team games it really isn't a reflection of how good you are.

Disagree, thats what people with bad K/D say imo lol. Not knocking you though, and yes, teamwork is the key. But, if your teammates die more than they kill, then you are likely to lose ^^ esp. in the higher ranked games.

Disagree again (although I don't have a K/D for you to judge here, I'm typically 1.5 K/D in team deathmatch on CoD2 and about 0.5 K/D on capture the flag for instance) because a favorable kill ratio isn't necessarily a requirement for satisfying the objective in several team modes.

(there is exactly 1 person I worry about killing: the guy with my flag. until they get it, it doesn't matter who you kill.)

A friend of mine has almost the exact same stats as Welt's.

I just compared them on Bungie.com and while he is much better than me.. we can still play on the same team and do just fine. We only lost 1 maybe 2 games last night out of 10 or so. So while he is better at getting the kills than I am right now as long as I'm holding my own it works out fine.

One of my roommate's friends was rank 47 or something for Halo 2. His GT is bronzebillygoat. I don't know exactly how the ranks work and everything, since I never got Live, but Ive seen him play and he simply doesnt die.

lol. .9 to 1.1 is probably fine for what you're looking for then! especially if alot of these people are playing team modes other than deathmatch.

It's very easy to get a positive ratio in a deathmatch (and not just in halo, but any online game/shooter/etc.)... it's more difficult doing it in team games (ctf, etc. etc. etc.) because you're trying to achieve the goal rather than pump up your KDR. Yes, you can do well in team matches as well, but it doesn't mean you have more skill over your teammates because you're probably wasting time just trying to kill your enemies rather than accomplish the team goal.

actually assuming people don't drop mid match with regularity. it's easier to do in goal games than in deathmatch (team or otherwise)

only half of any given deathmatch field is above the median k/d ratio (by definition): in a field of roughly evenly matched players, the k/d median should hover around 1.0.

in a goal oriented game, several players (at least) won't be playing for kills, and will generally have depressed k/d ratios - allowing players who are focusing on kills to get 'easy' kills to inflate their k/d r.


going into a random pub with lots of scrubs dropping in and leaving again, it's easy to get a really high k/d r. but I'd rather have a 0.9 versus players that I know are better than me, than a 2.6 on a random public server against 13 year olds who've never played an fps before. *shrugs*

(and no, I don't mean that welltal has a high k/d from playing bad players; I just think that k/d in general is a bad indicator of playskill if you don't carefully control what matches are applied to k/d ratios.)

Glad I wasn't the only person to think this. There's a bit of a learning curve going from Halo 2 into Halo 3, it's gonna take some adjusting before people start to get into a more comfortable playing style and start doing better.
