K:D ratio really doesn't mean much unless your only doing solo play. If you play any of the team games it really isn't a reflection of how good you are.

Disagree, thats what people with bad K/D say imo lol. Not knocking you though, and yes, teamwork is the key. But, if your teammates die more than they kill, then you are likely to lose ^^ esp. in the higher ranked games.

I guess I should have mentioned that at the time I posted that I had a 1.58 K:D Ratio. And if you didn't want people to snap back at you, don't make a post proclaiming your superiority because you happen to have a better K:D ratio than most when the game has only been out for 2 day.

My friend and I were out today, hanging out and talking about Halo 3. This guy overhears us talking about it, then starts bitching and moaning about the game. Shit like "Fuck Halo 3, they took out BXR, and double shooting, and super jumping on top of the map, the game seriously sucks. Campaign mode blows. The glitches and hacks are what make the game fun, blah blah blah." Then I realized that this guy standing right in front of me represented everything that was wrong with Halo 2. A "bro" (seriously, popped collar and everything.) who glorifies cheating to win in ranked battles, gives the campaign a half-assed try and says it sucks, and just bitches and moans about every little adjustment that keeps him from cheating his way to victory.

Uhm, no.

BXRs are one of the many button glitches from Halo2. They added depth to the game and using them allowed someone to become a much stronger player but only through mastery of the button combinations. It's like the wavedash and L-cancelling in smash. They aren't used by most of the community but the people who want to take their game to the next level use them.

I hope button glitches exist for Halo3 simply because that's what seperated top and bottom teir in H2. Now it's simply, who's shots are lucky and happen to connect. I would definetely not refer to them cheating though and a "double shot" was found in the beta, the founder hasn't released the info yet apparently though.

Exploiting a glitch/cheat to your advantage is BS, glad SE banned them, people who glitch in Halo 3 should be casturated too.

Quick question... I've only been playing through campaign mode w/2 friends when we have time to play (so haven't been able to rush through it), but when I heard you can only get the secret ending through legendary on solo play I started my one player game yesterday.
So... Can i play on heroic all the way to the last lv then switch to legendary? or do i gotta play the entire game on legendary from the first lv? Because Legendary is pretty difficult and I'd prefer to not struggle my way through unless I need to. Thank!

As it stands now, the game feels very, very balanced, and I for one don't want it to devolve back into a game between those who know the exploits (and thus always win) vs. those who don't.

As far as K/D ratio goes, its important, yes, but it neglects things like assists, distractions, etc.

If I cause a distraction that results in my death but is immediately followed by 3 members of the opposing team dying by exposing themselves (in conjunction w/ my communication w/ a teammate to set the play up), and as a consequence my K/D ratio is 0/1, while the team score becomes 3:1 us, my contribution to that skirmish is not represented fairly by K/D.

As such, unless you're only looking at free for all, K/D is important, but not the gospel.

You only have to beat the final level on Legendary in order to get the secret ending. You can essentially beat the whole game on easy and just restart from the last checkpoint on legendary if you want to.

You're half right.

When you beat the game single or co-op on any difficulty that's not legendary you get the final cutscene, credits, done.

Beat the game on Legendary co-op you get final cutscene + credits, extra cutscene after credits.

Beat the game on Legendary solo you get final cutscene, credits, extra cutscene, then extra omgwtf cutscene after that.

Confusing? I know. Basically just beat the game on any difficulty you like, and then replay the final checkpoint on the last mission (solo/legendary) to get the extra special ending.

If games like territories and CTF wasen't take into account of your K/D ratio it would mean a lot more, there are certian games when your not playing Slayer where taking a death is the correct manuver
