Microsoft is mass producing this like candy, you will probably find a copy regardless of whether you reserved it or not (at least the regular game and the collector's too maybe... good luck finding legendary, but I'm not that big of a Halo fan (yet?), so I have no interest in it.)
It's revolutionary because everyone is on an equal playing field. When it comes to PC gaming a lot of games are won by the person with the better computer because he has more fps, less lag etc... Halo 2 was the first truly successful online console shooter.Originally Posted by Yangsing
Also got my pre-order and can't wait. Four player Co-op just sounds so awesome! :D
I'll tell you but you have to promise to tape it and post it on youtube when your done.Originally Posted by Ace-o-fire

Playing online is in itself not an equal playing field due to lag.Originally Posted by Bweigelt
by requiring a broadband connection, there isnt lag to that much of a degree that its horribly unbalancing.
I'm not impressed with those achievements. I hate games in whichyou can get hundreds of points with a single play-through on the lowest difficulty.
Just got my xbox360 about a month ago and honestly dont give a shit about achievement points. Are there people that are seriously walking around going "Oh snap, you got the 50 achievement points for reloading fast in GoW!?"... Seriously, wtf are they for.Originally Posted by Turambar

(Padding your score isnt that hard)
MS did a smart thing, if you want to gain the most achievements points possible you would have to go through the whole library to achieve it
Now I think achievements points are just given out as just a pat on the back/good job, before some games you had to earn your achievements, now they are just given to you
My thinking was achievements were going to get implemented like Coke Rewards or that MS Club Live ordeal, but I think it never panned out, now there just cool #'s you can show offf against other peoples #'s
So wrong, if you've ever played Lan with good people you'd realize this.Originally Posted by izembo
Lan is so superior to online play, I know kids who suck online but in reality they're really good at Halo. Being beaten online is never an issue because in most cases I am comfortable knowing it'd have been easy to simply beat them 1v1 on Lan. By no means does halo have such a neglible lag that the field is even. That is and probably never will be the case... :/
exactly, if I have a remotely bad ping then I can't aim for shit. And how does halo 2 hosting work? Is it a dedicated server (ala pc online) or some 15 year old is hosting from his parents basement?
most definetely local hosting by the user with the fastest connection iirc.
Otherwise bridging wouldn't be possible. Sorry no, nobody legitimately gets past rank 40, really, not even pros bother with the ranking system. It's a pet peeve of mine when people are like "oh I'm a lvl 32 in hardcore". Well that's great kid you got lucky with teams/quits congratulations? Ranking system sucks oh maybe H3's will be different.
I haven't read much on H3 just so I enjoy it more when I play it tomorrow (my friend got a copy early somehow).
So basically Halo 2 brought to consoles what PC gamers have been doing for the past 10 years?
Yes, you guys done bitchin and gaying up the thread now?Originally Posted by Yangsing

The store I preordered at is having a "Midnight-Release Halo 3 party" starting at 9 P.M. All that means is lines start a 9 possibly earlier ._.;
I'm arriving at 11:30 waiting until everyone in front of me is tilled through. I can't imagine the small EB I'm going to will have a lot of people... there's a Future Shop, Best Buy, and WalMart all in the area.
I can't imagine the extremely small Gamestop I'm going to, to have a bunch of people on line either. Hey you never know though. I'll probably get there at 10:30~11:00 though.
The local place I go to is having a all day halo party (Halo 2 tournament, speed runs and a costume contest) witch really means it starts at 3 pm. The guy hired a bunch of people who go to his shop on a regular’s base to help him out so I got roped in to setting up the tournament. None the less i should make about 200$ witch puts me closer to my ps3 goal and get to play halo 3 in the backroom a day early.
only thing i'm not looking forward to is haveing to hear all the little bastard 13 year old waitng in line with their parents.
