Halo 3

So, did anybody else encounter this on the night they picked up the game? For me everytime someone left the store with the game and got in their car, they turned their stereos up really loud, peeled out, and drove like 30 mph out of the parking lot. I couldn't help but laugh at it every single time.

Just finished the game, and W O W at the entire game, nevermind the Act 7/9. Fucking 11/10...

Anyways, upon completion (co-op Legendary) I only got the Campaign Complete: Normal achievement, but not Heroic or Legendary (I thought Normal/Heroic were supposed to auto-get if you beat it on Legendary?). I went back and played the last Act again from Rally Point Alpha, but didn't get an achievement at all after I beat it. Do I have to start from the beginning of the act? I wouldn't really care to do it but the last level is so epic + we're talking like 300+ GP... >_>

I got 425 points for beating it on coop Legendary which included normal and heroic. Nothing extra for beating it solo just the cut scenes.

The fuck? I just played through the entire last level on Heroic (from the start, no RPs) and I still didn't get the Heroic completion achievement. Granted, I skipped all the cutscenes, but that should've have any bearing on it.

But yeah, upon beating it on co-op I got 175 (125 for the "Normal" (???) completion, and 50 for the last level).

Are you sure you beat it on Legendary? From start to finish? You didn't like play the first mission on normal then switch or anything?

Hrm, come to think of it, I never got the second act's achievement (because we started from a RP), so I just went back and blew threw it on Normal to get the achievement. Is that why? Should I go back and beat Act 2 on Legendary? Otherwise yes, every level has been completed on Legendary.

I don't know enough about Halo lore to know the significance of what was seen.

We are playing legendary with 4 people with hella skulls on getting way over 40k points per mission but no achievements, what gives?

Does it *really* matter that much? Its not like people oogle over your achievements in the game, especially when they're all this easy...

Does anyone know how Johnson survived the legendary ending of Halo 1? '-' After finally beating Halo 3, I re-read all the plots and that was the only piece of information I couldn't find.


And Epical: I believe the extra bit is supposedly the scene where you see Cortana/MC's half of Dawn drifting near what appears to be an inhabited planet? I've only beat the game on Legendary while solo.. so I never saw any lesser ending to compare.

@Rora: Yeah, I know what the scene *is* (saw it myself), I just want to know why it's *important*. Why did they add that super intense music as that huge light source (don't want to say sun, because it may not be) lit up the obviously populated planet? Is it a planet that has been shown before that is bad or something? I'm confused. =(

yay tiny font conversation As far as I know, it's just an arbitrary populated planet and I would presume its potential importance lies in seeing the MC in another game. If anyone knows more, feel free to correct me.


On the topic of achievements, I like Halo 3's a lot; it's about the right mix of being reasonable but respectably challenging... pretty chill to get 900 or so, but yet definitely challenging to get 1000. And no bullshit like Clusterluck from Gears... hardest achievement ever. My only addition/change for the hardcore people would have been to have separate achievements for legendary complete solo and co-op, but that's pretty nit-picky.

Go to the covenant level and after the "Spolier" Dies (you will know if youd play it)
There are 7 Rings there
In order to unlock the skulls you must play the theme to Halo. By jumping through each of htem to play a difrent note.
To save time heres the combonation 4 5 6 5 7 6 5 4 1 2 3 2 7 2 1 1 3 4 6 7 5 4 6 5 4 5 3 4 .
After this the skull will spawn on the bridge
The order of rings go 1 starting at the elvator to 7 starting at the "Spoiler"

I'd like to take this time and shed some light on this particular phrase from the IGN review:

They say to save the best for last, which is why I've neglected to mention the sound until now. When Master Chief is about to enter a major battle and the music sweeps in, it's impossible not to feel a sudden surge of adrenaline. Halo's combat theme is the perfect futuristic military anthem. How could you not bring your A game after hearing that evocative orchestral powerhouse? I can't stress enough how vital the sound is to this franchise. The score is powerful, cinematic, and at times moving. It's the music that humanizes a hero who wears a helmet 24/7. For my money, Halo 3 has the best soundtrack of any videogame.

That, my friends, is the Spoiler. I simply could not get over the game's musical score... I will DEFINITELY be getting the OST when it comes out (rumored Novemer).

About the extra ending: The planet is thought to be Onyx, from the latest Halo book

Still no luck with Overkill or Steppin' Razor. I've got 16 skill on the Lone Wolves playlist, so I'm not playing against really crappy players anymore, though I've been dominating everytime I try. I mostly AFK on any non Pit or Construct map, though.

I got the IWHBYD skull today as well. I've got the full Hayabusa Armor Perm, and it looks pretty nice <_< 1000 gamerscore unlocks the "Katana" armor which gives you a giant katana strapped to your back. However, you can't use it as a weapon, but it looks awesome.

Just pick them up. ONLY the gold skulls have Acheivements. The silver skulls dont. But if you get all 13 you get a helmet :D
