Halo was one game I always tried to stay away from being competitive in and going to tourney's in, probably because I'm a PC gamer. I really wasn't overly hyped about this game, I preordered it but that was it, didn't watch every video or read any daily updates on it.

But man, if the game is half as good as it looks, its going to be the best game ever to me. It's gonna be hard to fight the need to go competitive again... What's worse is my friend used to travel all over for Halo2 tournaments, and I know hes going to drag me back into the darkness.

PM me if/when H3 is added to MLG if you end up going because I'll be at MLG too. I assume that's what your friend was doing when you referred to "travel all over". Went to most of the events in 06' last year with a sponsor(i.e. Pop Rocks, yes as in the candy lol), took a break for this season though.

I've been out of the loop for probably 2 years minimum, I wasn't competitive with Halo2 but my friend was - I just think he'll be dragging me if halo3 is added since well, he tried to with halo2 (and we play together all the time). Nice to know other people are into it though, I'll probably see you there lol.

I'd actually like to start getting into Tournaments. It seems pretty cool so who knows? I might stop in some Halo 3 ones hehe.

Hey just to make sure... Halo 3's widescreen is supposed to actually be done correctly, unlike BioShock's, right? (yes I know BioShock was a badass game and I loved it.. but having recently shelled out for a new widescreen tv, it kinda pissed me off to see less)

Well I don't have a SDTV so I can't say for sure but it looked nice to me Halo 3's graphics weren't on par with other 360 games by any means but god damn it is fun. Finished legendary about 2 hours ago and am playing around with multiplayer and OMFG THE LEVEL EDITOR MODE IS SO FUCKING FUN ITS AHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! Everyone needs to get it!

I prefer not to get into the hype of a game because it makes it that much harder to wait for it as the last week nears around, but I'm looking forward to H3 for sure. Will be the first console game Ive planned to buy for over a year... think last console game I purchased was FF12 (lol). I just find it way more exciting to be 100% surprised when I first play the game over already knowing what to expect at parts.

Off topic, but to Tekki and all you game employees; do you guys know how much PS3's expected to drop to around Christmas? I'd heard around $450 or so but the stores here weren't sure.

We don't really get any of that information. The only link to Sony we have that commercial users don't is a monthly visit from the Sony rep, and the one my district gets a fucking moron who doesn't know anything. Rumor mill has PS3 price dropping yet again during the holiday season but until an official statement by Sony is made, don't start counting your piggy bank

And yes there is a level editor in Halo 3, I won't get into TOO specific detail because I'm not sure what bungie has released so far about it but I know they said publicly there would be a level editor. Anyways it's a lot of fun and holy fucking shit playing around with the gravity/speed of players is super fucking fun. Can't wait till Live is launched!! There are some new multiplayer modes which are pretty fun and put a new spin on gameplay that I just can't wait to try out. Anyways, yeah, so far this year I can definitely say it is the best game of the year hands down (Zelda, Rock band and brawl haven't come out yet though!). Even if you don't like single player there's literally like 1000x more stuff to do multiplayer wise on 3 than there was in 2. BG clan okgo =P

Also Bungie has released almost all the information on Forge so there's really nothing you can't say about it. The only thing I'd not talk about if I had the game is storyline imo.

there is no expected price drop, current rumors are a 40gig system for $399 and the 80gig dropping to $499. those are both only rumors until a statement is actually made by sony.
