I thought Nemesis in the 2nd was freaking fantastic. The whole begining of the movie was great then it got kind of messed up but I still liked it. The 1st one was ok for a video game movie, I mean come on, what the hell do you expect from a movie based off RE?

How could you view 2 while not thinking about the game? Same settings, characters and general story outline, except they fucked all 3 of those things in a 2hr span.

I didn't mind 1 so much, it was a below average movie but there was no connection to the games, characters or settings. I can live with that, 2 took all of those things and fucked them up the ass. Nemesis getting his ass handed to him in HAND TO HAND combat made me want to cry.

I mean seriously, it's not fucking hard to make a Resident Evil movie, the plot line, characters and events are all there in awesome detail. Just follow that and omg you have a good movie.

From how they have the origin of nemesis though, I can be a little leniant over that part, because noone would have understood why he wasn't chasing Alice if they hadn't played the games. Why not? Both Nemesis and Milla (forgot her name) were enhanced mutant in the movie. Why couldnt they be equally strong? I personally enjoyed the 2nd movie way more than the first one, even if it wasn't perfect. First one just felt like a cliché survival horror movie and there was almost no story, second felt more like a RE related thing.
I'm not sure following the game directly would have made a better movie. I supose it could have been more similar, but it's fine like that.

That said, they should have made a Parasite Eve movie instead. The ending of the 2nd movie reminded me of that game more then RE.

I really like watching all the Resident Evil movies because I keep the game story apart from the movie story. Maybe people who hate the movies wouldn't be so offended if they could see each story line as separate.

Wesker was Chris's antagonist. Sure he showed up during CV:X in Claire's game, but he wasn't bothered/concerned with her, if anything he wanted to use her to get to Chris. Chris had to deal with all that shit, Claire has little to do with Wesker other than meeting him. Chris has RE1, and his whole game in CV:X he's fucking hounded by Wesker. I wouldn't be surprised to see even more Wesker in RE5.

It's not that they were equally strong in the movie, I knew that much already. But why fucking go there? Not only did they make Jill into a useless side character (when the movie's plot and characters all directly relate to her much more than the other chick) but they fucked with what could've been a cool RE movie.

I can see people enjoying it if they haven't played any RE games, cause you don't know wtf to expect and how things should've happened. But like anyone who's a fan of the games (who arguably, are the reason game movies are made) was disappointed greatly.

And although I love Parasite Eve, I wouldn't want to see them butcher that as well. Instead SE needs to make PE3, even though they ended 2, I want more of that action. Make Eve get her powers back somehow, I don't care how they just need to do it.

Game movie fail because they both fail at the "movie" part, as well as the "game" part. RE2 movie was ok on its own, and it did have a RE feel to it.

About the Nemesis scene, I would lie if I said I remember it well, but I don't remember being anoyed by it. A nemessis vs nemessis h2h would be ok? So why not have both nemessis experiment fight each other? I agree it might have been more fun if Nemessis was running after them with rocket launcher for the whole time, but the path they took doesnt destroy completely the movie.

As for Jill being useless, I seriously dont remember any of the character doing much in any of the game (havent played RE4 tho), they are mostly trying to survive and escape the place.

I think the Nemesis got his ass handed to him because he was getting flashbacks and shit while fighting Alice. Anyhoo, I haven't seen the movie but I think RE: 2 sucked compared to RE:1. Yeah, both were bad but 1 was the lesser of the two evils (zing!). My friends went yesterday to see it, I'll ask em if it was worth seeing ;x

Edit: I thought I saw a jap Parasite Eve movie a long time ago. It was based on the novel, google it.
