I wonder how much effect this could potentially have on the economy. I definitely know more than one person on my server that deleted a character with TONS of gil that will now be able to bring all that 2005 gil back into the game. Is this the first Welcome Back since the deflation?
I'm guessing it probably won't have a huge impact on the economy as a whole, but it will definitely change the finances of the folks I know.
This might be a case of the representative not knowing what they're talking about. On the RHVD page it says that even if you deleted your character before canceling your Content ID you can get your character restored. That'd have to be a huge mistake to say that on the information page and then refuse to follow through when people attempted to restore their characters.Originally Posted by sbkujata
Yea... that's why I was particularly pissed, he even went as far to say that I wasn't understanding what he was trying to "convey". I was really confused because he was contridicting everything said on the RHVD info page...Originally Posted by Dein
Oh well, I'm going to try and apply for this campaign regardless, it's worth a shot.

Talking to the live support atm about trying to get my character back with any luck..
Turns out that trying to get my character back the normal way 1-2 months ago was a very very bad idea..
To be able to get your character restored using the welcome back campaign, you have to have been gone from the game for like a year.. Atleast by using the Type B restore.
I don't know about the Type A because that didn't really apply to me.
Anyway! After not touching my account for 11 months i heard from a friend that it might be possible to get the character back through a normal Character Restoration. So i thought "Oh snap! I'll give it a shot!"
Well that didn't work out. And now i can't use the Return Home to Vana'diel campaign because my Content ID is still on my account. Kinda messed up if you ask me.
So to sum it up, If i had waited a month to try and get my character back. I would have been able to get it back using the stupid Campaign. And by doing so, They would put my deleted character on a completly new Content ID. But they can't put it back on it's original ID.
Even the support guy i'm talking to thinks it's messed up.
So he told me to send a comment through Service & Support from PlayOnline Viewer.. And tell everyone i know to do the same and they might acctualy change it.
Sorry for the wall-o-text and if you feel like it, send a comment to SE and tell them to change it. ^^
Can anyone confirm what information I need to get my Char restored?
I am sure I will need:
CC
POL ID
POL PW
But do I need the reg. codes?
I've been tempted to do this a few times (my game name is 15 letters long... I had no idea I'd be playing for 5 years), but a few of the people I've talked to said there was a chance you could lose items or your character?Originally Posted by Sekkite
That's a good question, if I ever need char restored and it needs these, i'm SOL, lost these a very long time agoOriginally Posted by Marsala
The whole thing backfired though, since now I try to type his old name and he still ends up not getting cured.Originally Posted by Septimus
I don't think I've ever pointed out a sig before, but just wow.Originally Posted by Razril
No, you dont need it. I personally called SE to try to restore a character and I told her flat out I didnt have my reg. codes. So she confirmed by CC #, address and POL ID as verification in place of reg codes.Originally Posted by Siniroth

To do it online, youre right. But over the phone she used other methods to confirm I was who I was. I called them about a week and a half ago.Originally Posted by Razril
