Awesome translation Elmer. Uleguerand Range, Lufaise, and Aydeewa Subterrane are my top areas.
I've never seen the grasshoppers before, >_> but how could you not notice the moon?

If you are in Aydeewa subterrain, check out the spiders hanging from the cave ceiling. I'm not sure they are in everywhere though. This picture doesn't really give it justice since they are moving around.

Awesome article and translation Elmer. :D
Makes me wonder what kind of graphics settings they develop the zones for. Using windower and upping drawdistance to 5+ makes
a dramatic difference even in old newbie zones like East Sarutabaruta (hello mountains).
The Lufaise Wyvern does it's pluck-a-duck routine every day 14:20-16:20ish. I'll go and check the exact time now.
Then I got to go and find me some grashoppers. I've been in this game for 3 years and not noticed them.
Edit: It appears 14:17. Then tries to nab one of the backwards swimming ducks, but misses.
Does a flyover and disappears back towards Tavnazia at 14:35.
Talk about shitty water go to Sarutabaruta. >_<Originally Posted by HyperionX
Thanks for translating all this stuff Elmer, it's very interesting to read!
when I first noticed those spiders I panned the camera down so it wouldnt get in my 'face' as i ran by, but I brought it up too soon and "UUHHHGGGGewwww big spider in my face!!!"
THE MOON CHANGES COLOUR!?
Who knew.
If you want a good place to look for the grasshoppers, I think I found them kind of near Fountain of Promises? Maybe out a little more, look around the tall grass. I've only ever seen them once though. It's disturbing to be walking by and suddenly have things start springing out at you.
I heard there are spiders on the ceiling somewhere in CN, but they never showed up for me.
I'm not sure if those are supposed to be spiders or not. If you go to the donut room in the basement and look at the ceiling in some places you can see tons of black stars pouring out from the ceiling. Not sure if they're supposed to be spiders or if it's just lighting.Originally Posted by Malaquist

they're on the ceiling in the room with the basket and the crawlers on the first map (sometimes the escort NPC runs there)
another place that has an interesting effect is also in aydeewa subterrane. on one (or more) of those little pools (like the one for the blu job quest) there are these light green bugs that are attached to the pillars. at least one of them makes a noise when you get close to it/swing your camera around, i played with that for a while :D little ruffly noises
The only thing I've never noticed was the grasshoppers.

Along the same vein of the moon colors, I always appreciated the colored stars in the night sky matching the elemental compass. Theres so much intricate detail in these maps, it makes me wonder how much more incredible it all could have been without the lolps2limitations.
what's up with the lone flower right before you drop into the pit of the aery?
just throwing that out there
Another great find by Elmer. That's pretty cool info time to go see if I can see that wyvern.
As much as I am incredibly attached to Vanadiel. I'm really anticipating the next SE MMORPG they've learned so much since FFXI has started and I think they really have what it takes to blow our minds again.Originally Posted by theo
Fyi: The wyvern flies over the pond at 14:20 (or maybe it was 12:40) every game day. I used to take people on tours of Tavnazia after they beat prommies.
it's 14:20
I also noticed the Owls / Wyrms, but never the Grasshoppers, or the spiders that were pointed out.
It's symbolizing the last thing with any amount of decency that you'll see for the next three hours.Originally Posted by Xajii

Great translations, was a bit disappointed with regards to the lack of any note regarding "cut-and-paste" zones though (Ru'Avitau, Hux'zoi, Ru'Hmet, all of Alzadaal), wanted to hear the reasonings behind them besides "budget getting low; got lazy; was rushed; etc", as they seriously detract from the graphical appeal of the rest of the game imo.
I think that's on purpose, to reflect the architecture of the zilaart/kuluu.Originally Posted by Kaisha
