    i dont agree with the 3min balance between phalanx II and cure III , maybe your talking about merit PT , which i dont use phalanx II on them anyhow .
    but the good thing about phalanx II , is the like giving the tank more HP to tank with , so more survivibility ( is this even a word? lol) , but if u are not having it x3 its not worth it , cause with x3 , the recast is almost 0 , and it takes more then haste to wear off .

    I dont understand why some people think Lvl 1 Phalanx 2 is not worth it, first upgrade gives 15 damage reduction and further upgrades only ups by 3 damage reduction, which is indeed nice but we are talking about 3 or 6 extra damage reduction, its not like lvl2 or lvl3 doubles or triples potency of the spell.

    Of course lvl2 and lvl3 are more mp efficient but if you dont have mp issues Lvl 1 is very good allready, lvl2 and lvl3 are just nicer.

    I have a mix of Tier2 Merits with lvl1 Phalanx 2 and its really great, far from not worth it.

    I think a second reason is that at one upgrade, the duration is only 2 minutes, so it requires more attention from an already very busy job.
    At 2.5-3 minutes, you can include it in your normal Haste/Refresh cycle, so it's easier to keep track of and maintain.


    Right now I have 4x Convert 3x Ice 3x Wind 2x Phalanx II 2x Slow II 2x Paralyze II. Kind of an all-around setup, works well for me.

    Same here. I have 3 Slow II, 1 Paralyze II, 1 Phalanx II, 1 Dia III. I'm toying with tossing the Paralyze II for another point of Phalanx II, but I'm very happy with the one point.

    I only have one point in Dia III, which I will never increase. Although MP-inefficient for only 30 seconds, it's great for zerg fights or Dynamis mobs to speed up kills. It's also nice if some yahoo has cast Bio II on a mob you're trying to sleep, at least you can make sure it wears off in 30 seconds as opposed to the full duration of Bio.

    I have 5 Convert, 3 Wind, 2 Ice. Having 5 convert frees me up to cast the level 75 enfeebles more, and allows me more flexibility with my MP. You don't need it for soloing, but in max speed manaburn, or when you're pulling in merit, or in some big LS event, I love Convert recast. The law of diminishing returns on Enfeebling Magic skill (my skill cap is 344) means that the little bit of extra accuracy given by the elemental accuracies will very, very rarely come into play for me.

    in my experience 1 point of Para II is worthless. I have much better results (landing and proc) with 3 levels.
