Went through on an alt because I didn't have much time and didn't feel like getting trapped on my main just to find the system had no asteroid belts. Would have scanned down a plex or something if I had more time but.![]()
Free trial just ran out today
I made ~9,000,000 ratting in 0.6 and fitted out a nice destroyer. Aside from my laptop overheating every 2 hours, I had a blast. Once I get a decent tower, I'll consider playing full-time.
And if you play be sure to idle in the Bluegartr channel. :D
We took 6 BS, an Asbo and a Carrier (lol) into a 0.0 WH.
Prober got us a warp in to 5 frigs and 6 Turret Towers.
As soon as the Carrier landed 6 BS spawned, i recieved 100k damage in around 4-5 volleys. We lost all our BS bar 1, the Abso made it out and the Carrier only just did. Ejected 30 shuttles so the NPCs went after them.
We were all fit with huge buffer and RR, and we got our arse handed to us. Gf though.
I play, toon name is Finter
about 1.5 mil sp, still flying a tech 1 frigate
There's a Channels button on the main bar on the left of the screen. There should be a join channel button in the channels menu.
Bought the SE game that came in today. With my Prince of persia trade in and employee discount I got it for about $10. Looks like I can add the 60 days it came with to my trial account. I don't know where the SE ship is though. I didn't see a card in the packaging and the only instructions were to create a new account and trade my account the bonus item.
I want to dive into this and will be doing so within the next few weeks.
So it turns out the code for the new ship and 60 days is on the same card and the ship can only be given to a new account. I wouldn't mind starting a new account but I want the name I had on my trial account. Can I delete the character and start another with the same name?
OK, I picked up the trial the other day and having a bit of fun, just finishing the first 10 part combat mission chain. I'm playing gallente (the chinese-looking bloodline).
I tried it once before about a year ago, playing amarr and got bored after about a week because while I knew that I could do anything, I didnt have any idea what I fancied doing out of all of that and how to get on the right track.
Got a few questions if anyone can help me out trying to decide to pick up the full version.
1. I picked Gallente mainly because I can't stand the look of the Caldari ships, even though I hear most people play Caldari. By picking one race and starting in an area, am I limiting how much I can play with others of other races? Am I gimping myself when it comes to combat?
2. How best should I be training myself to gear for combat? At the moment I'm training Gallente Frigates III to fly the Tristan I get given when I accept the last mission in this chain, and before that I've basically been training as the tutorial/missions advise.
3. I'm running agent missions at the moment, and I'm liking the bit of storyline that comes with them, do these carry on like this, or is it part of the tutorial?
4. I hear you make money as a combat pilot by "ratting", I know that it involves killing enemy NPCs and looting them, but do you need to get some sort of "contract" to kill them first, like an agent mission? or do you just find asteroid belts in lower-sec space and kill them?
5. I hear the game is infinitely more fun with a corp are they hard to get into? As a newbie combat pilot am I going to be useful for anything or am I going to have to spend months making money and training my skills before I can go on one of those big epic space battles I see in all the trailers? Are those trailers even realistic?
Gallente recently was hit with a nerf bat and Hybrid turrets are kind of lacking at the moment, mostly due to the suicidal nature of blasters in pvp (you put yourself at the enemy fleet's optimal range with blasters), but given time I'm sure it'll be fixed. Amarr is the flavor of the month for pvp. Most people use Caldari for missions because Caldari Navy Raven is a very very nice mission ship to use and is more hands on then the best Gallente mission ship, the Dominix (which is a drone ship, and is boring as hell imo). You can cross train at any time with no punishment really. You'll just need a hell of alot of new skills (for example, gallente armor tank and use hybrids while Caldari shield tank and use missiles). Corps shouldn't be hard to get into, though finding one worth while may prove troublesome. I think this speeks for itself to answer the epic battles question. Feel free to stop into the Bluegartr channel in game, a few people there will be able to answer any questions you have.![]()
What about location, i see the universe is pretty large and takes a while to get to distant systems, especially if its through 0.0 space and more dangerous. How would I go about getting to caldari space and playing with someone there if I start as gallente?
Use the in game map and bash your head into the wall when you have to go 20+ jumps. Be careful though, doing missions for Gallente will kill your Caldari standing since the two factions are at war (I'm kill on sight in Gallente and Minmitar space for example because I do Caldari missions).
Im fucking in love with this game atm lol...... All i want to do is mine!
I feel the same way Tekki, for some reason I have so much fun mining in low-sec and making a ton of cash.
yea mining looks fun to me too everyone knocks it but I think flying one of the mining barges and roaming around for rare ore in low/high sec would be a good time
I think I'm going to pick up the full version after my trial runs out, but be Amarr on a new char, that way I can do Amarr missions and not have to worry about my Caldari standing and fly the "flavour of the month" pvp ship. Then train Caldari ships if I decide to take up mining, because it does look interesting.
