I wasn't flying with anyone. just doing the first and second tiered missions, learning the game and mining.

You probably will like the changes they did to missions. If you're looking to come out to 0.0 let me know. All we really require is that you can fly a stealth bomber which usually takes less then a month.

Already quit since sitting dormant in Fountain got old. A single power block Russians owning 80% of the map is all the reason needed to never play this game. NC was too big they said. So they just make a bigger NAP and say it's different.

I don't really know what to say if you feel you can't do anything if you're not in the flavor of the month power bloc. I think you said a while ago you were in TEST. Those dudes are over in Delve right now where a lot of really good fights are going on.

I play it fine on a computer that struggled to run WoW on max settings.

My guess is because of Incarna and the new(6 months old) character creator? I have a pretty beefy machine so I don't notice any issues. You shouldn't have any issues playing EVE.

Problem is the political situation is very unstable now. If the russian bloc wanted to, they could sweep through goons and test and even probably through delve. If they cared enough, there's nothing that can stop the Russian bloc from taking over all of 0.0 at this current point in time.

There used to be 2 versions of EVE: Standard and HD. After the end of last year they decided to do away with the standard client and focus more on the HD verion. Had the same problem when I tried to play again after an extended break.

I 100% agree that the Russians could steam roll any region they want at this point but the thing about Russian politics is they are very unstable. At any moment you can have then turn on one another and everything is in turmoil. Sure, we own space, but for the longest time DNS never held space and thrived on fucking with people who do have space. Shit most of our members, myself included, don't even rat/plex in our own space, most of the time we do it in red space. You'd be surprised how many pussies are in this game and will dock up the second a hostile enters system. AFK cloaking ftw.

All of EVE expansions are free.

And it's probably not that good of a deal actually. You can get a free 14 day trial (I think its 21 days free if you have someone to the refer a friend thing) then the monthly cost is $15 or less if you buy time in bulk.

I actually feel bad for CCP. If people look at why they spent so much time on Incarna I think they might give them less hell. I'm not saying CCP doesn't deserve some but probably not to this level.

The quotes from that document are pretty funny, makes you realize what your playing/paying for, a game people make money off of. But that's the truth in any MMO, no matter how much the dev team seems 'connected with the players' its still business in the end. Some things suggested in the document are outright ridiculous, but on the other hand I don't see the big deal since all the items can be bought with plex, and plex can be bought with RL money OR isk.

Either way people asked for walking in stations FOREVER, now its here and yea its just a little room and dock but really what else do people expect at first. I'm sure down the road it will expand but in the end its like releasing a whole other game into the game, walking in stations is just that....walking in stations.

Me personally I think its awesome I love sitting in the station, maybe its all those years of FFXI and I've grown accustomed to the mog house :O

EDIT 2: The more I read this thing the more wtf it gets, some of the things they present like buying standings is just out there and beyond, how can they not see that would ruin the game, I would feel stupid grinding knowing people are just buying away hours of in-game work. Either its fake, or its just them throwing every possible idea out there, or the game might drop dead lol. Still the system now is basically the same thing, people can PLEX buy a nightmare or save the isk to do so, who really knows....

I guess I should clarify what I was trying to say. Some history lessons first! Back in 2006(I think) CCP announced Ambulation which was the first step of walking in stations. They had maybe 1-2 people working on it at the time and that team slowly grew. They got to a point where shit just wasn't working and they scraped it entirely. At the same time they had started development/planning both World of Darkness and Dust 514. At this point they decided they needed their own framework to develop games and created carbon. The original Ambulation team was put to work on carbon and the first release of it was the Incurision expansion (winter 2010). Now CCP is trying to move Eve to be full powered by carbon as both WoD and Dust will be. The next step was to enable walking around. Sure, it's not that great that you can't interact with other people and it's just a small room, but it's the first step.

Now, as a player of Eve I think incarna is a waste, I want more spaceship shit, not walking around. If I were to step back and look at it as a CCP employee I can see why they put so much importance on completing this project. As for the NEX, I think CCP really fucked up, majorly. If they had priced shit in the 1-3 dollar range, that thing would be extremely popular. Hell I probably would have bought an outfit for a couple bucks. What they have now will not be a sustainable "micro transactions" model.

I agree with Chezo that the one thing they did right was tie the Aurum to plex. This way people can buy all those vanity items they want with in game currency.

One thing that is odd is that CCP hasn't seem to have posted anything on the eve-o boards in over 24 hours. It's almost like they're hiding and trying to figure out what to say.
