I've dealt with helping an old LS of mine (12 accts were jacked--keyloggers on internet cafe computers) get their accts back a while back. My strongest recommendation is keep calling. If you don't like what one guy says, hang up and call back. The reps are people, they're all different in how far they're willing to go to help.

Wasn't via windower--he just comprised their LS's forums, read PM's they sent, and got the information from there. Given how out of date almost every LS's forum installs are, it's almost trivial to do so.

Just because that this wasn't done with windower doesn't mean that it won't ever be done with windower. Any and all trust should be thrown out at this point.

For those worried about windower, Starhawk is the project lead. nothing can be added to windower without starhawks review and approval. The download url's file cannot be changed unless its from starhawk himself.

You can rest assured that windower will never be used for such actions, there is nothing to worry about.

Don't call a GM. Don't use the POL.com Service and Support. Your best bet would be to actually call SE. If the first rep doesn't give you what you want, ask for a supervisor. Stress the fact you're upset, explain the situation fully, and keep asking for a supervisor when you don't get what you want. Eventually, you should get someone high enough who can do something. Hopefully, anyways.

This is likely your best bet. SE's call center has always displayed a very rigid set of rules for what they will do with accounts, and not all of them make sense*. However you make enough work for them and something may happen. God knows this isn't fair but hey, maybe if you can prove that someone used illicit means to access your account they'll have some sympathy. Also, try driving home to whoever you talk to that not having any kind of secondary security is dumb on their part.

*Recovering characters when you don't have the current billing information, not needing verification or the current information to change said billing information.

Meh, I laughed before, I didn't laugh at this. Too much crap going down to justify with "The RMT Wars" excuse. I think alot of people can justify overlooking shady shit in "the persuit of truth" but noone discovered anything groundbreaking here. So a few people RMTd an Astral. That's not worthy of crazy exploits. I don't see any real upside to this. Nothing had been taken prior to this, and there was nothing uncovered. No stealing of thousands of dollars, no lying about making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Nothing....

Pretty much just left a shell in shambles with little to no real reason why. Is Real Money Trading any worse than Fake Money Stealing? It's not justice anymore, it's punishment. Truely meh.
