First I am pleased to hear that our people are getting there accounts back, thank you very much.

Secondly, I would like to know how this was done... I am aware that the info was taken from PM's but I have not nailed down how they got into the database... vB was patched to the latest production version, PHP is behind due to some development on another app I am working on... so that leaves MySQL as the way in.

A simple PM telling me if it was vB, PHP or MySQL that left a door open somewhere, that would be very helpful. My instinct tells me that it may have been MySQL since I had the DB on a public IP (working on other projects from home requires it) - normally, you can disable access MySQL from being accessed except from the localhost machine it is hosted on.

Anyhow, I know that I wont get all of my stuff back, there is no way you guys stored 600 items from 13 mules, but my 3-4m in gil would be very helpful to be returned to me. My Mules are still stuck on hades for sometime....

I have no idea what he did so I feel pretty silly even speculating, but have you considered that the answer could really be much simpler than all that?

Would Divisortheory's PM box or email account have had anyone else's password (or pol id and password)? Would that password have been the same as their forum password allowing Taj to log in to their forum account as well and harvest more account info? And that chain could go on for a while ...

Just an idea.
