AA, if you use Visa/Mastercard for your FFXI billing go to them. Say that this was done without your knowledge and they always investigate the incident. Trust me, Visa goes for blood when it comes to fraud/misuse and almost always they catch the person.

Rykoshet told us that Taja was his mule. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty irresponsible of us to not question why an Aegis Paladin transferred servers and asked to join LS. That being said, he was just a trial member. Ellia or Linsivi kicked Rykoshet when the thread was posted (I think it was probably Ellia, Linsivi is in the process of moving.)

Thanks for the explanation. Frankly I'm as clueless as anyone, don't think that I want it to be windower. And Ryko's comment about Xbox 360 was probably right, that person says he's never logged into that account via PC. So frankly IDFK, but I quit FFXI anyway (commence epic lulz) so I probably shouldn't even care.

The mule account I have WAS on used on PC before I moved to Japan. Due to space limitations (and the fact is costs a fucking-lot-of-money to ship all my PC crap from the states) I elected to use the Xbox. So, since being in Japan, I have only used the xbox for FFXI mostly, I do have a laptop but I dont recall ever loaded that hacked account onto that laptop.

Anyway, I think this even basically ruins the game for most of us. We will see how it turns out in the next few days as we assess the full damage of this attack. The core people involved really enjoyed the game without the drama.

I'd simply be curious to know the true mechanism in bringing this plan to life.

People tend to name their character strange things when they transfer. We had a guy in our LS for a while named Climax, and his mule was named Ridill.

Still kinda weird that you'd do that to someone fresh off a worldshift without so much as a background check or "what was your old server/old name"

i was not on when he got pearled, i would of asked him at least, but i think since he helped us we decided to act now and ask questions later.

What's really a shame is how easily it could be determined who did this from SE's side.

For ALL of our hacked accounts to be force name changed those names must have been created in the first place off of some account, likely in advance since they moved us all at more or less the same approximate time.

How hard can it be to go, 'oh this CC created this character on the server, then deleted it a day later'



Edit: I know you told me in game Taj, but it was also determined by a third party who I had not mentioned it to, and I was merely pointing out the AH history that the item was bought by you and that it wasn't something already in possession that was handed over. I also did not lay the blame on you for it, but merely pointed it out.

Maybe they thought it was the Rykoshet, and thought "Cool, Ryko's on our server now, come tank for us".

Or not, but I half hoped for that to be the reason.
