My account was hacked and is now a smithing mule. It got hacked like 1 1/2 months ago. I'm going to call SE tomorrow and try to get it back. What are the chances that they keep the gil on account like this? lol and to the people who recovered stuff, did they ditch your r/e stuff?

Today my friend's account got hacked. He called playonline they said there is nothing they can do all the information was changed. It took an hour from the time he found out it was hacked to when he finally got someone at SE. SE said that he had to file an online claim with the FBI about theft. Is there really nothing they can do. I got to watch the guy run around on my friend's character and I even called a gm but they said I had to call SE. I just cant believe that they cant look up the records to see who the account use to be registered too.

as long as they get paid what more should they care about? only a small portion of the player base has gotten hacked, most of those stem from giving info to the wrong person. If this isn't a result of someone slipping info to the wrong person, I doubt SE will do anything until a large amount of people(probably around 50+ I doubt it'll reach that since it seems to be 1 linkshell) get hacked.

Words can't express how angry I am about this.. I was kicked from Ultima last year but I no longer hold any resentment toward anyone there.. in fact, some of my best friends were kicked during this whole fiasco, most notably Sarah - probably one of the best people I have ever met in my entire life - and she didn't deserve any of this, nor did anyone else that was a victim here.

I saw this guy in whitegate last night before I logged, I was like who the fuck would name their character Rykoshet, I did notice he was an Aegis-weilding Galka.

I personally know one of their members did it, because it happened to my real life brother. Jacked all his expensive items, left account stripped, and has changes his story about it every time you ask him. I know this person has done this to at LEAST 1 other person's account. People know about it, they just don't do anything about it.

Sorry to hear about your acounts. As for the email all I can say is I don't even own a gmail account. And out of the two emails I do have neither use the name "Ksandra" as I made them wayyyy before I played ff XD

U know ive played this game since ps2 release ive always and forever been cool with almost all people in game because i understand one thing and that is this is a video game.This isnt RL your here to have fun playing with people youll never meet yet youll love as friends.This game has taught me alot and im proud to say ive been a part of it. To this day ive never had animosity for anyone in FFXI.Today alot has changed for me ive worked my ass off in this game and ive never harmed anyone yet today i got assfucked for the first time ever.I know your reading this and probably laughing ur ass off whoever you are.All i got to say is get a life u obviously need one if all u got to do with your time is to plan an assrapeing of so damn many honest and down right nice fucking people.

My account is lost to whoever stole it im not a packrat i dont keep stuff that i felt id never need again so i dont got registery codes.I love FFXI and i <3 all my friends in it.Thank you guys for being so damn good to me.

This whole ordeal is a downright shame and someday i hope that when people get so bored or have so much animosity for a game that they do shit like this you maybe think to yourself first "Theres got to be something better to do with my life"

I wrote a big long stupid post about how not to call your CC people until you bug SE about it more and then firefox crashed. You get the abridged version.

1: Make sure you file a report with some police/FBI bureau that this happened. If someone used your finances to do this, make especially sure you do this. I can't speak for how seriously they'll take it since its a small amount of money, but at least they'll have
2: Call SE and make sure they wont hammer your account permanently for ret-conning the charges. If you intend to recover from this, most companies terminate service when you screw them out of money like this. If you don't care and this is the end of FFXI for you, then screw them out of that money hard.

To all who where transferred: jesus tap dancing christ that sucks. I can't really do anything but express sympathy at the situation, especially since it very well could be a virus one person had that affected many.

To SE: JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, how many times does this have to happen before you put an extra god damn layer of security in your shitty ass portral program?

See previous: NO verification information CANNOT BE USED to recover an account: Check

Something as simple as the CC code on the back of the current credit card for any and all transactions involving finances would have prevented all this. But no, all that needs to happen is a trojan gets downloaded and Viola! instant player screwed.
