Don't wanna edit this without some info, but the captain Rank does NOT require the completion of 1 Nyzul Isle run. Friend of mine on fenrir said Murph had Captain rank and didn't do a Nyzul Isle.

This is true, but you need to do the 1 nyzul run for free runic portal pass. I am 90% sure of this.

no, you dont need to even attempt nyzul isle for captain rank, which has the perks of free RP, ruins, and 4th tag (5 if u hold 1)

Isn't the extra tag seperate from the captain rank? I think it's to get the extra tag you need to complete nyzul, and for captain you don't. Recall that there wasn't any mention of captain rank in the update details, just the extra tag.

Tag is separate from captain. I got the tag message from the assault NPC as soon as I'd confirmed my last finished assault, before I even started the rankup quest. As for the overall question, I can't speak to that since I've been doing Nyzul all along since it was released.

I've been to a Nyzul run (and our group won), but I've never been a disc holder; currently I'm 48/50 to Captin, so I'll let you know if I can get an extra tag once I win Cerb and stupid King. ; ;

Whether or not you held the disc doesn't matter; just check if you have Nyzul Isle Investigation under completed missions; if you do, well, the game counts it as if you've cleared it at least

my group is about 45/50 on captain (3 FL's and like. two SPs haha) I've done nyzul successfully but several members haven't - I'll be careful to track how things shake out

(do you get it at 50 including nyzul? or 51? do you get a 4th tag before 51? or at 50? do you get free runic portals just with captain or do you need the 51 assaults too? etc)

Confirmed you don't need nyzul isle for captain.

What I'm able to conclude from other people (including people who posted in this thread):
-Captain does not make Rytaal store an extra tag, going 51/51 does.
-Captain requires 50/50 on non-Nyzul missions and completion of Aht Urhgan missions. (Not 100% sure on this, but people reported unable to get Captain, with all 51 assaults completed but not all storyline missions.)

Everything else is non-disputed, I think.

w00t I'm finaly Captin, I got my extra tag BEFORE I was made Captin from the tag guy after I finished my last Assault putting me at 50/50. I have won a Nyzul Isle though.
Then I went to see Naja and completed the best rank up quest ever... ^.~ and got all the other perks; free runic portals, etc.
