Losing FF connection

Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm losing connection to FF every 5-15min? Started yesterday. Starts as like, I go 2-3h np, then it gets progressivly shorter times every 30min or so until its down to like now, losing connection every 5-10min. Only in FF.. my net etc. isn't. Can search net/msn all np.

Using DSL.. Widows XP professional. Dell XPS 710 pc etc. Had the PC for like 5-6 month now and np until yesterday.

Im having the exact same problem... As I type this Im red dotting on my PS2... I've tried running the game on 360, and ps2 but I can't log in for any more then 15 min or so before I slowly d/c... I get a POL-4001 error... Never had any connection issues in 4 years until yesterday.

This is def. FF related problem.. cuz my net is fine for everything else. I've trying with windower 3.3, 2.6 & with no windower and its all same problem. Starting to wonder if yesterday's maint. didn't do something.. but it was only for 1 NPC so I don't understand..

Gm i contacted was useless.. said this was a ISP issue... despite the fact Im sitting on TeamSpeak talking to my Ls, as I red dot in game >.>
Its annoying, and after 6-7 times like this I just give up trying to do anything in game and not reconnect.

Having the same problem. Dc'd like 7 times during Tiamat. Then again during T10 Cerb >< pissing me off

Is it possible for a wireless connection to overrule a hardwired connection? My pc is hardwired to the modem/phone line, but another computor in the house is using a wireless connection that runs off my modem also ( modem is able to act as a router I guess). What it basically seems like is that somehow my PC is using the wireless connection also for net... = I'm dcing alot in FF because from past experience wireless sucks for FF or maybe all online games..

Is this possible? anyone..?

Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Disable the wireless connection.

I've been having a similar problem for the past 5 days. I have 2 accounts which I run on separate PC's. But recently my second PC can't stay on FF for more than 20 min w/o getting the red dot and eventually losing connection. There is a total of 4 PC's in my house. Two of which are directly connected to my cable/dsl router. The other 2 that I run FF on are connected to the router via a network switch. This worked fine w/o any trouble for the first 2 weeks. Then suddenly my second PC can't stay connected to FF, while my primary PC has no trouble at all.

Getting error codes 4001 & 4002. If anyone knows how to fix this or what might be causing only 1 of my PC's to constantly lose connection, please help.
