Weird Connection Issue

I've never had a problem with DCing before. I've maybe DC'd a few times here and there over my time playing where I'd afk in Whitegate and overnight I DC'd, or random connection crashes once every couple months.

Last night during Tiamat I was DC'ing every few min, just randomly dropped from game. It wasn't my connection to my knowledge cause I wasn't getting dropped from POL. I thought it might've been lag from having 50 poeople in zone, but I've survived Aery with 200. Once Tiamat was done, I was still DCing every 15-25min even in Jeuno.

This morning whne I went to log on POL it gave me an error "Server congestion couldn't log on" or something. Is anyone else having these problems, or seen that message?

Sounds like a problem with your ISP, I suggest you contact them and check their website for know problems. I used to DC all the time on my old ISP, so much so I pretty much stopped playing for like 4 months. Then I moved house and got a new ISP, been online 24/7 ever since.

It's only FF though. I'm not having any problems with Firefox, Bittorrent etc.

Yeah mine was the same, I could surf web pages just fine. Where do you live and which ISP are you using?

I'm in Ottawa ON. Canada. Sympatico is my ISP. Have never had issues till now.

Really doubt anyone here is going to be able to help you lol. You really need to ring your ISP.
Try and find other people on the same ISP that play FFXI and see if they have an issue you too. Btw there is a tech support forum. >.>

Yeah but it was that error message mostly that I wanted to see if anyone got. I've never seen it before. Especially trying to get into just POL

I had the exact same problem, and the general response from LS-mates, just like here, was talk to your ISP. I never ended up calling my ISP (Comcast) though, just waited it out, lol. The problem lasted for 2-3 weeks before it stopped happening, and was a major hassle.

Recently on an Ix'DRK run, several LS members and I had our PS2s lock up and "black screen" on us. We had to reboot the machines, but it happened several times over a 2+ hour period. It was kind of a major problem, since both WHMs in the alliance (myself included) were on PS2. We would always lock up and d/c at the same time, and we live in VERY different areas, so it was not our ISPs. Seems to be a glitch with the PS2 version, since I had the same thing happen when I logged in on my PS2 and on my PS3.

This happened to my ls several times the other night, but only seems to happen in Garden or Palace, outside didnt seem to cause problems. I've been having problems with the Coin NPC and the Warp Taru as well since the last version update, also on ps2.

Hey Torn, I was with sympatico for a few years and never had any problems. I remember though that I was always DCing after like 4 hours of gameplay when I first started to play this game when it came out in NA. When I changed to a new PC, problem was solved, I don't know why. But I never had any trouble with sympatico.
