I almost couldn't finish it. I've seen some effed up stuff (ogrish.com before it got pussified, and even now, /shrug), the old decap movies... and yeah, I figured I was all but desensitized completely.

Watched this, and holy shit. Just, yeah. Holy hell. If you haven't, don't, please, for your sake. The MOST screwed up part is that they 'messed up' so to speak (I don't really think there's such a thing as the 'right' way to cut off a living human's head) and he just suffered and bled / suffocated to death... just, holy cow. Wow.

Back to front, Break the connections between your brain and the rest of you body (spine) you die instantly. Front to back means you bleed to death or drowned from blood filling your throat.

The Guillotine is a good example of this. Even though it was so bloody and you really did cut of the head, the person felt no pain at all.

Actually, even with a severed head, you're not dead for at least 60 seconds after the head has been severed.

You will faint instantly if nerves are cut afaik. The head might stay "alive" 60 sec, but it wont feel any pain probably..not that many people came back to tell us how it felt.

I don't just mean alive by the clinical sense, i mean alive as in, somewhat conscious. But probably no pain, and even if it weren't painful, it's still a rather unpleasent state to be in.
