I'm a stupid lootwhore who will never use it. By doing so I have made my E Penis one million times bigger than everyone else's.Originally Posted by Luto
I'm expecting a funny story. No RR up in the alliance DoTs are on Faf has 10HP left, flails for some reason, wipes alliance, dies at the same time. No one else will raise them and it autosorts.
White Mages should of have reraiseOriginally Posted by Luto
This is why it would be kind of a funny story. lolwhm that didn't RR but now has a Ridill.
Call it a crazy hunch but this might be the story behind it.

Yeah but what's the story behind that? Why didn't anyone lot a Ridill <_<?Originally Posted by theo
Maybe he bid an outrageous amount of points because his jobs get very little from HNM, and thus had points to spare - so many that no one else could outbid him. Why do you care? He's a fucking tool anyway, even if no one in the alliance could use the sword I'm sure that they had SOMEONE with WAR/DRK/RNG/THF/BST/SAM 50+. <_>Originally Posted by Luto
I care because there has to a bigger lul in there somewhere other than a mage only got a Ridill just being a dick abusing a points system.
Point Systems are just an attempt at writing /point systems to paper, plain and simple. We all wish we could use a /point without any unfairness. We would like to think that our leaders are capable of remembering accurately and unbiasedly everyone's contributions and therefore determine who deserves it. The problem is, people make mistakes. There's so many ways to make a mistake in loot distirbution too. Even a leader with good intentions you can trust will still sometimes misremember things or otherwise have a lapse in judgment. People don't always recognize when they're being biased; sometimes it's a totally subconscious process.
Having said that, I think if your leader is incredibly level-headed and capable of making good, honest decisions almost all of the time a /point system is preferrable to a point system. But how many people are?
It can be summed up like this, fewer Members getting screwed:
good /point system > good point system > bad point system > bad /point system
That's all there is to it.
Tell me if this is a bad points system for sky.
Genbu Suzy Seiryu Byakko drops 10pt each.
Points do not decrease.
Must have a job 70+ that can use the item.
Someone with 10 pts can lot against people with 201827 pts. (On their third sky run even, or second. Points are totaled at the end of every run. So as long as you get 10 pts+ on your first run, you can lot the next run.)
Kirin drops are based on point priority. IE: Someone has 100 pts and someone else has 101 pts, the person with 101 will get the item.
Basically as I see it...
4 Gods: Freelot pretty much as long as you have a job 70+ and 10 pts.
Kirin: Actual waiting in line for items.
Summing up something involving so many ifs in such a manner is ridiculous.Originally Posted by Yutuyu
The only thing you accurately summarized there was that good > bad.
What, good > bad? /shocked
No one point system is perfect, the best you can do is.. use a bit of common sense and try to create one that will satisfy most people's needs. A good way, is to look at which LS's are successful, and which ones are not, then take note of each LS's point system and try to connect the dots. It's also important to keep in mind, your own LS members opinions on what is a good system or not. If everyone can agree in the beginning when a system is being established, it's much easier to progress as a linkshell.
So basically for 4gods, it's freelot on all money items and freelot for anyone who is 70+equippable job for other? Seeing as how points don't decrease and all. Or would there be a "if you won $$ last time, you don't get it next time" type deal?Originally Posted by Luto
Because the philosophy behind that is better than points=currency IMO.

Point systems are kinda lame... Although, job priorities help a lot.
Points do not decrease using that system. Money items are sold and split. That's strictly gear I was talking about above.
