It's the "Don't be a selfish butt-hurt noob and waste everyones time because you don't want them to benefit off your hard(lol) work" attitude.

If you can't kill the mob, fine, die, get the fuck over it and try again tomorrow, don't cause drama and bull shit.

Or if you don't want to die, station a WHM or /WHM in every party and teleport out of the area. Just make sure that the tanks party is teleported last. There is no reason to CFH on any HNM ever.

We get Despot (or somebody else does) everytime we camp it in under 2 hours. Fucking Ulli stones like to not drop once in four hours for us though.

Interesting considering in nearly 3 years of sky I have yet to see Despot pop before the 2 hour mark.

This one time, I was running to Kirin and I ran through the hall, and out of nowhere he came and started hitting me. :/ I tried to Bind but there were other dolls around so I got more aggro and died!

I've always thought CFH was a valid tactic.

LS X fights NM Y for 30 mins and gets it down to 10% and dies.
LS Z comes in fresh and fights the last 10% and gets the loot.

How is that fair?

This seems a little more fair:

LS X fights NM Y for 30 mins and gets it down to 10% and realizes they're going to wipe so they CFH and die.
LS Z waits for the NM to get back to 100% and go unCFH, fights it, kills it and gets the loot.

Am I missing something?

CFHing an NM is just plain rude, selfish, and immature. It's saying "We can't kill it and get the item so we aren't going to let you get the item even though your group is capable of killing it" Instead of just accepting that you died and someone else should be allowed to fight the mob you died to.

Assuming it's a CFH prior to a wipe, and not a CFH to MPK someone else, I don't see a problem. People complain about getting killed by a CFH mob, but stand back and wait for it to go yellow again. It's like waiting for the spawn all over again, except this time it can kill you if you aren't careful.

Making group #2 have to work the same amount for the item you failed to get isnt a crime. Most people dont like doing 90% of the work to watch someone walk in and finish the last 10%. Is it annoying to CFH? Yeah. Is it 'immoral', 'unfair', 'immature', or 'selfish'? Possibly, but probably not.

I question the morality of anyone that claims what they are doing is "possibly" moral.

It's obviously wrong, but people do it because of some perceived notion that they are balancing things out. In honesty, if the other LS's are not messing with you while fighting and you CFH, you are really are being immature and selfish. Take your beats like a man, come back and try again another day.

I've thought it would be nice at times for anybody that was in an alliance that called for help on a NM to be 'flagged' or whatnot. The next few spawns nobody in the alliance would be able to claim,damage, etc said NM. <.< Many reasons why it wouldn't work, but it would stop some of the senseless bullshit that goes on.

They should just disable the call for help function for most NMs. The only NMs where call for help is useful are summoned ones like at Kirin and such, and a lot of times it is more trouble than it is worth. Would people get screwed over badly if all monsters that checked "Impossible to guage" were unCFHable?

There are other uses for CFH. If an LS wipes, we have a rule that they just used their chance, and they have to pass it to the next LS who won the random. If they fail to do this and attempt to zombie hold etc. (As you can probably guess this is basically KB/Tia onry). Someone will usually try to claim and CFH it to guarantee they either waste their time for breaking the rule or they wipe again and the next LS can take it.

Overall though I agree, CFHing NM's because you can't kill them and therefore don't want anyone to get the lewts is stupid and shouldn't be allowed. Worse than that is CFHing and running into a rival LS because you can't hold. I hope that little fucker gets banned, Wopa.

have seen people cfh and then get jailed many times including my own shell once (which happens to be on the drama database for pandy drama) i think most GMs crack down on that
