Fucking OW at the last one. The way he hits the mat doesn't seem right at all.

fedor was fine he came back and won the fight, he is heavily trained in sambo and knows how to land when thrown.
2nd to last one is pretty epic.
damn, i dont know how you watch UFC. Is it a "real" sport? or just brutal entertainment?
i still say the first MMA guy to master Muay Thai kicks is going to dominate
editl Muay thai is like the bastard cuz of MMA.
"UFC" isn't a sport, it's an organization. MMA (Mixed martial arts) however, is a sport, and it is my favorite sport.Originally Posted by Firas_Gattz

UFC and MMA are different then boxing. Boxing you get a ten count witch means a person could get knocked out and get back up again to fight more. That’s where the brain damage comes from. in UFC, and MMA if you go down or it looks like you got hit really bad and cant defend yourself the ref will call the fight then and their to stop from brain damage.Originally Posted by Jyakku

not an overly long essay.
anyway yea Boxing has a standing 8 count after a knockdown, also the gloves in boxing are padded to protect both the hand and the face of each fighter allowing more shots to the head. MMA gloves only protect the hand and allow quick knockouts resulting in exponentially less damage. Also, MMA provides submissions that can end a fight quickly and safely.
My buddy has been training in Muay Thai for a while now. His instructor is apparently one of the better american muay thai fighters having won a bunch of shit in the past. My friend is also into MMA and fighting in general. He claims that his muay thai instructor would regulate in MMA. All he ever talks about his how powerful the guys kicks/shins are.Originally Posted by Ace-o-fire
I dont know as much about all this fighting stuff, but do you think one of the only ways to stop a muay thai fighter would be to land a strong enough hit to end it with one strike?
take it to the ground, muay thai doesn't do any ground fighting.Originally Posted by Andarvi

Kicks are often a detriment if they are caught which causes them to be taken down. A good muay thai striker would still need to be well rounded with take down defence and a ground game. Anyway, here are some mma pics.

what about permanent injuries? I mean, if it has a high number of deaths then im sure it will be totally banned, but from the looks of the fighting manner I'm sure there will be some permanent damage to the body. Hell, a year back, I kicked a guy in the face and til today my foot kinda feels weird. Apperently the muscles were torn or something, and weren't build back properlyOriginally Posted by Jyakku

Like most physical sports you can't do it forever, damage will inevitably happen as you get older. What physical sport doesn't damage the body though, when someone is injured they properly recover whereas you probably didn't for your foot.
i'm saying the first cross over of mauy thai and judo would be crazy.Originally Posted by Remy0
You're not trained nor conditioned to kick a person in the face.
A guy can, over time, punch various objects of increasing strength / durability to build up muscle / calluses at impact points to absorb the shock of a blow without damage, to the point he can punch steel as hard as he can without breaking bones.
And holy fuck, when did this thread become the Eye Candy thread?
Is it bad if I thought the first gif was wrestling and they were just doing it wrong?
Ya know, watching this, it's an amazing hit, and the ref in the background reacts NOT AT ALLOriginally Posted by Jodwahh
