Expansions for those outside US

Even though the offer is real nice (EU player with US account) I'd still rather have the expansion disc physically with me (I still have all 3 FFXI Boxes ) and also not have anyone need to email me my activation key. I just guess I have to order it faster this time around or I'll get my discs a month late with all the new content milked out already.

Any EUs have a reliable adress they always get their US discs from with a good shipping/price ratio? I usually get my stuff from play.com but they only seem to have the EU version :/

Yeah, I know what you mean about the box. I have 2 accounts myself, so I'll probably be getting 1 box then 1 code.

Someone mentioned play-asia.com earlier in the thread, that looked like the best prices I'd seen so far. They have both JP and US versions, and delivery from $4 up to $25 if you want Fexex. I just used EBGames in the past, but that's $20 for standard delivery or something like that. They were very fast though, I actually got my expansion on US release day on standard international delivery to England.

It has Xbox360, PS2 and Windows Vista, I don't see Windows XP version :/

Im pretty sure US accounts will work on EU software - you just cant mix and match EU and US game and expansion. So you can't add an EU expansion to a US existing installation but if it was all EU expansion you can log in using your US account.

Is that right - can anyone confirm?

If so play.com has the EU 2007 collection for £15 and free delivery ...and then just get the expansion from there which, considering the shipping fees and delay in receiving it, seems like a pretty good idea.... if itll work.

I have a US account and a friend has EU so i can test next time im over there unless anyone else knows

If the account is EU, the expansion needs to be registered with EU codes, aka EU version.

I'm in the US, on an EU account, so I'll need to order my copy from Europe. You can mix and match installations, but not codes, and you cannot edit personal info, or do anything, really, in the member's section of POL, on a different installation than your account.

What I'm gonna do, to avoid the wait, is install any expansion I can find (I'm sure there will be torrents floating around), and then have a friend of mine back home in Europe pick up a copy from the store, and e-mail me the codes.

Not exactly, you have to get extensions in the version your original account was (i.e. US accounts need US expansion codes to be able to register, otherwise it won't work). But you can play on an EU version with a US version, that's a given (provided, of course, the EU install has all the expansions you need installed and registered too). I used to play on a friend's PC (EU install) with my US account, but wouldn't have access to areas that, either I didn't register, or my friend didn't register.

Play-asia finally put the US version for PC up so I have it pre-ordered now, phew

I got all 25 copies Pre-ordered ready to go. I should get them by the 21st.

So,



162.65 (I had to buy them in sets of 5)

$162.65 x 5 = 813.25 @ 32.53 each.

$33.33 (after paypal took their cut) x 25 = $833.25

833.25 - 813.25 = I made $20 dollars.
