Oh, and for the second time, I never said additional curing power would "fix" whm. In fact I never even suggested it was broken to begin with. Its a perfectly fine job when played well and I only mentioned it in the first place because it sticks out to me as odd that the job doesn't have an innate curing bonus.

And as far as standard merit parties at Colibri Camp go, if I'm asked to pick between a WHM (with nobles tunic and /SMN) and a RDM (without A.Body or AF2 Hat), I'd pick the WHM. A WHM's cures will nearly always be more than a RDM's, and Regen 3 saves a lot of MP in cures for the WHM. The only thing the WHM particularly lacks is Convert. (Both RDM and WHM will receive the nearly the same amount of MP refresh in this instance. RDM Refresh gives 150 MP at 3 mp per tic, and costs 40mp. To enforce this, a friend of mine has both a 75 Mithra WHM and a 75 Taru RDM. She's used both at bird camp, often times in the same party (swapping them out when her WHM hits 10 merit points,) and it's really clear WHM excels over RDM at that camp. She rarely runs below half mp on WHM, and we rarely have deaths. Her RDM requires convert several times and is all around more hectic for her to play. Same player, both jobs well equipped, but WHM just naturally has an easier time at that camp. North camp, you kinda need RDM for dispel and silence.
Also, my HNMLS always has a WHM in the tank party at any event we do, unless none are on. Even in Dynamis, our calling party is 3xDD, RDM WHM BRD. And, in a RDM WHM HNM setting, a WHM's MP regen will be far greater than a normal RDM's, and equal to the most pimped out. They will get the +3 mp from their RDM's refresh, +1 from /SMN, and +1 from Nobles. To say a RDM would accomplish the same, they would need A.Body and AF2 hat, and still their cures would still do less and they would lack Regen 2/3. Hell, I think a WHM's cures are as fast as ours, too, if not faster.
So, aside from Convert, I fail to see what exactly a RDM has over WHM. (And I could argue the benefits of Convert vs. the MP saved by a WHM's Cure Efficiency, but I'm too lazy and this is getting too long.) Realistically, a RDM + WHM in tank party is the absolute best you can do. RDM + RDM just won't do nearly as well. So, yeah. I don't think RDM is a replacement for WHM, and as a RDM myself I wouldn't want to replace a WHM. They are just better at their jobs than we are.
But @SE. I'd gladly take Refresh II. Or Refreshga. Or Dispelga. Or Hastega. (COME ON, Beastmen have Hastega. Why can't we?)
