Let's see how many posts you can get in repeating yourself before you get it, I could give less than a shit about the "minor annoyances" in the OP. But by all means, continue to smack yourself like a fucking mongoloid.Originally Posted by alphacat

Perhaps we can talk when you can form an actual thought. Until then, see you.

Just for you (*'3')
Ryko you need to include an explanation on how to exploit something in ffxi so SE will actually read it.
Well darn.
Who in the blue HELL is Alphacat. >_>
I think dynamis needs some changes. I think the WotG expansion would be a great place to see some change and keep it within the story maybe even reduce the dependency on dynamis.
If that wasn't an option Id be happy if they reduce number of people in Dynamis to 36 max and allowed more groups to visit the same zone at a given time. Upping drops would be nice as well.
There are a lot of little things that be nice to see done that people have mentioned, but I think over all I think SE needs to scale the dependency on certain aspects of the game.
get outta here tyrone

You know, this is crazy and all but i always thought it would have been better if AF2 was quest-able and that something else droped from Dynamis, something along the lines of Hydra gear. It's amazing how many noobs spam dynamis and have no idea how awesome of a story is behind it. Hence the quest part. It sucks because from 50-60 you get all this neat gear for your character, which makes YOUR job stand out from all the other jobs. Then you get 75, and get another great set. Sure, most of it sucks, some is good. Just like the AF1 counterparts. But it makes you STAND OUT as your job which is why people want the sets. How cool would it had been to go on extreemly hard quests, learning about the Hydra corps and the storys behind the people who created/wore the armor. That would be awesome right? It could even envolve some extreemly hard BCNM fights, a ton of gil, lots of death, and a epic story. Make the shit hard, but make it fun, make it rewarding, make it where people work together as teams to help eachother get their desired sets.
But no, lets put them in a event that needs a "average" of 30-50 people (coming from a guy who beat beucedine with 18 -it's really not all that hard-). Let's make the drop rates not only shit but completely random (I'm sure i'm not the only one to have seen 5 yes 5 BST and 4 DRG yes 4 DRG on the same dynamis beaucedine) which is sad when you have 20 people lotting R
DM and about eleventy billion lotting ninja. Let's make it NOT instanced just to piss you off and while we're at it lets throw in a nice 1 million gil entry fee and btw, you can only go twice a week! Don't worry though, getting 30 people together at one time twice a week and getting them to do this frequently is easy. Because we all know how many intelligent people are left on FFXI these days.
I love a challenge, infact there needs to be more shit like Dynamis Lord and Odin in this game. But hard work needs to pay off more and shit needs to be less random. Alot of excellent end-gamers seem to be quiting more often just because of the repetitiveness (is that even a real word?) of end game without seeing viable reward for your effort. It's like going to a job working for a month then them saying "We have 1 paycheck, everyone pull this slot machine and whoever rolls highest gets the paycheck! Good luck next month!"
Noobs have AF2 left and right from being in the right place at the right time. It's no longer rare, i have allmost 30 pieces of the shit myself. I see alot of my friends struggle to get there's and never get it. It pisses me off. Dynamis is fun, seeing AF2 drop is fun, SEEING HAPPY PEOPLE OBTAIN AF2 IS FUN, Drama because enough doesn't drop is NOT fun. Being able to stand out as your job and feel like the <job> that you are is fun. There is rare gear out there like Salvage gear which is a awesome system and is fine how it is imo. Just for gods sake SE, give people some <job> onry equip that they can work for and feel good about earning. Something that doesn't take 2-3 years per job and probably won't even happen if you have shitty luck. Nothing beats being 4/5 on 3 jobs for 2 years.
As for the kings... Christ, don't even get me started on them. I stoped camping them a long time ago, that shit is not worth it anymore, FIX IT SE! Jesus that was a long rant i'm really sorry. But in short i fully agree with Ryko. (Even though i think the OP is sarcasim but i'm to tired to be able to tell so i wrote this out anyways)
I don't think questing AF2 would've changed anything except make more noobs have af2. I did all my AF1 on a bunch of jobs and i never paid attention to the story once.
I didn't pay attention to the story in anything though, zilart, promathia, toau. I just figured with how much time goes between cutscenes and crap i wouldn't remember anyway so i'd spam through it.
The only dynamis zone that needs to be fixed is xarcabard. cities drop more than enough AF and beaucedine i don't think has any really really good AF anyway. RDM body is ok but nothing to wet yourself over.
Fix xarcabard, fix kings. i've never done salvage or einerjar so idc about those.
They do need to....fix/adjust the drop rates indeed. 3 hours of repetitive monster killing with an annoying "haa hoo haa hoo ding ding ding ding ding" music is ****ing boring. 3 ****ing hours. Add some attraction, tough bosses that have increased drop rate etc(No, I am not talking about an increase from 0.10% to 0.15%).
Look at the Apocolpyse Nigh Earrings. They are still fairly rare, a nice reward, QUESTED, a awesome quest, a huge acomplishment, and probably the most fun i ever had getting a item in the game. The storys in this game are awesome, why play if you don't pay attention to them? Contrary to popular belief this is NOT a online pissing contest (j/k it totally is) but a VIDEO GAME.Originally Posted by Skyylya
But yeah, most citys even though the drops can be fucking random as hell i can get past. Even though a little less randomness would be nice, i won't lose sleep over it. And WTF@RDM being the only good piece of Beaucedine AF2? Dude, BRD body totally makes you hit shit harder, how awesome is that? And SAM body is totally great for tanking situations! Joking aside, NIN body is actually pretty awesome, but lets go back to my point. It's not about the stats, it's about getting a full set of armor that looks spiffy and you can feel proud of acomplishing.
In my opinion, Beaucedine needs to be fixed worse than xarcabard. Why? Because xarcabard is "slightly" (ever ever so slightly) predictable (please don't kill me) Where as you can go to Beaucedine and see 10 of 1 thing in 2 weeks and nothing of another for a year (Yes, it's possible, and does happen some times).
Salvage is pretty fun sence the update, Einherjar i haven't done sense the update because it fucking sucked to hardcore before it.
Fix the kings... Wait, no you did, you added Einherjar, and it sucks equally as bad as the kings... 2 wrongs make a right in SE's eye's i guess?
more instanced areas, but allow so more than 1 group can attempt at a time. Drop rate in this game is horrid. I'd like to at least go 1/10 on most things. Waiting a year or more for a certain drop is horrid.
